shoot...pick your time of year and the right islands and you have some of the best surfing in the world there... good excuse..haaa.

The flights are hands down the worst part. I think it made up 60% of the cost of the trip. If you want...shoot me your email address and what your budget is. Maybe I could share some ideas. We looked into EVERYTHING as the honeymoon was a big deal to us and took up 1/2 our wedding budget. We priced things from a couple thousand to $10,000. Fiji. Tahiti. Hawaii. Mexico. Virgin Islands. Etc.

How ours was planned.

get married. Crash at hotel in suite that we used to get everyone ready. Bought 5 minutes from site.
Go to san jose. Fly out to LA.
Fly from LA to Nandi.
Then fly/boat to other islands. They have helicopter options...I wish we would have done that.

It takes quite a good chunk of time. I don't sleep well on planes with gigantic fijian guys smashing my knees so I watched 3 movies and read a book.

On the way back you gain a day so that's pretty cool.

It was my first time out of the country so you can imagine how the flight was for me. Everyone around us scored the empty rows and went to sleep. I got smased by the giant fijian vj singh looking guy.

But it was so worth it.

We plan to go back if not at 5 years for sure at 10 years.

congrats dude...its true...now comes a year or so of just planning for your wedding as well as watching the price of it gradually go up and up and up.....me and my fiance originally planned a budget for 25k, now its above 36k hahahaha....i just cant wait for honeymoon, the actual day of wedding ehhh

...if i didnt have big family, i'd say elope to vegas or invite really close family/friends (Venetian has a wedding package for 3500), then hold a dinner/banquet for your other family and friends later...WAY CHEAPER!!!!

I'd HIGHLY recommend FIJI if you plan on doing tropics. I can recommend a RIPPING travel agent... talking she talked me down as I was about to get arrested in LAX and found us a room at 1am in LA to hold over for the next flight.

And I can recommend some places.

Air fair is grip but the rest is doable. US dollar is 1.87 fijian.

Pink got married on a little island I saw. One of the places we stayed had a very cool little spot on top of a hill where they do wedding. Really cool.

Ah! You bastard! You went to Fiji?! Def one of the places I really want to go to before I die... I've already been everywhere in the caribbean, all over hawaii, everywhere in Europe (literally), only place left really is Fiji and New Zealand (in terms of places I really wanna go). Perhaps I'll be able to talk my soon to be wife into going to Fiji instead of Croatia for our honeymoon. Don't get me wrong, Croatia is the f'ing BOMB, but I've been there so many times that I'd rather go somewhere new like Fiji! I've heard NOTHING but the most awesome things about Fiji... Ive watched travel shows about it, and seen documentaries and all I can say is that it's probably the most beautiful places of its kind in the world! I hear Thailand is comparable in beauty (in some parts), but I'd rather not go there for personal reasons.

Dude, tell me about it! The day after we got engaged my fiancee started planning the wedding! Originally it was supposed to be medium sized with around 150 people attending... Now we're at close to 400 people, and our budget of $20k is now $45k! It's def going to be a wedding to remember as we are both Croatian, and the one thing besides being violent that Croats are good at, it's throwing HUGE parties... it's what we thrive on! I'm glad I'm not paying for the wedding, cuz I'd probably kill myself knowing that I spent $45k on a friggin wedding! I could buy over 45 guns for that price!!! Guns that I'll have FOREVER, not just a single night like the wedding!

I also didn't do ANY of the planning.... hahaha, I'm so lazy and I don't care about the details of the wedding, so she's done EVERYTHING which is fine by me!

PS: 45 GUNS! Can you imagine!? OMGZ

Honestly. Try and go soon.

The only way I can describe it is my state of mind the entire time I was there...

So this is what the planet looked like before we ****ed it up...

Seriously. Incredible. 1st place we stayed was lush jungles. Incredibly clear water. Clean. Freindly people. Real down to earth. Fresh water. Waterfall jumping. Hiking. Horseback. ETc. Room was on a cliff overlooking the bay. private shower..outside. Bath with waterfall..etc.

2nd place was all upscale and hollywood. Bunch or rich people. Small. No fresh water. Crazy nice pool. Even clearer water. White sand. Insane sunsets. Room was at the end in the sand.

Couple celebrities have purchased islands. Redbull just bought one they are building a casino on. There was all kinds of building going on. They're developing lots to sell.

Needless to say, they've been discovered. Go soon...

The aussies go there a lot. New Zealand even more. There were TONS of them there. It's cheaper to fly to from NZ than it is to fly across AUS.

sorry for the hijack. But go soon. It can be done fairly reasonable. We went nuts and definately won't stay at the second place we went to again... and it was the first time I've ever been out of the 48.

would not surprise me if they had one in the capital city. It's the only place that it's legal to tattoo.

We originally were gonna go to Tahiti and I already had a tattoo artist lined up. Haaa. Strait old school. Hammers and needles..haa. someday.

No the casino pisses me off. We have to go and screw everything up.

fortunately ALL the waters are protected. AMAZING. I was literally sitting on the ground with an anchor in my lap staring at the fish swimming around with me. Like a giant fish tank.

thats awesome. Yeah sucks they have to build on remote islands. Mt Everest will be the last natural place in a few hundred years. Those tattoos are cool, you gonna get one?
