Wow, nice rock!
Congrats! It's a different type of fun once you get married and have kids. The material stuff don't count as much but it doesn't hurt

wow.. its amazing how fast girls start planning. We went to her best friends house (who is married to my best friend) after I proposed, and they immediately started looking at all the wedding/bridal magazines that my buddies wife had left over from their wedding this last august...

Good show Greg. Funny you made a statement about how fast she got to work on planning. She's probably been planning it since you first met. Ladies seems to think every one that comes along is Mr. Right. Rule #1: It's her day, not yours... What she says goes. Your part is done. Now just nod your head and say yes dear.

^^oh Jeff I know.. if she wants my opinion i will give it but other than that i will just agree with the whole thing.
she really wants it to be in costa rica, or on a tropical beach of some kind... that could be fun.

I got married in HI. The cool part about that is only the people that really matter will be there. You are obligated to send an invitation to, oh say; your mothers third cousin. You probably don't care if that person is there but you'll never hear the end of it if you don't send an invitation. If it's in some remote location they're not going to go. They do end up feeling obligated to send a gift. It works out quite nicely. Everyone that matters is there. Everyone else.... F 'em

Congrats!
Be prepared to call in all favors accrued in the past. I have been able to get a 125 person wedding down to 5k out of our pocket, and that includes the Honeymoon.
Oh and you are going to get asked for constant updates about how the wedding planning is going. This will come from everyone your mom, aunt, even boss and they will do it on a weekly basis. Its almost like once you are engaged the only thing anyone thinks you do is plan for the wedding.

Conrgats man! I got engaged about a year ago and will be getting married on April 5th! I can't wait till she is my wife... Probably the best thing thats ever happened to me. It's great when you have someone who loves you just as much as you love them! I'm not usually such a sucker for the lovey dovey stuff, but man, I'm so in love with her that its not even funny! I hope you guys feel the same way about each other.
Again, Congrats and welcome to the club!

PS: She's saves me so much money because she hates most traditional girly stuff like diamonds, gold, etc... For her engagment ring, (and wedding band) she refused to have a diamond due to the whole blood diamond thing... Saved me a few grand right off the bat!

We went to fiji for our honeymoon. One of the places we went to has a small private island that they do weddings on. Pretty cool. Enough space for a hand full of people.
I'd HIGHLY recommend FIJI if you plan on doing tropics. I can recommend a RIPPING travel agent... talking she talked me down as I was about to get arrested in LAX and found us a room at 1am in LA to hold over for the next flight.
And I can recommend some places.
Air fair is grip but the rest is doable. US dollar is 1.87 fijian.
Pink got married on a little island I saw. One of the places we stayed had a very cool little spot on top of a hill where they do wedding. Really cool.

Fiji would be rad.. but as a surfer I have already investigated the island and its quite the expensive flight to get there.. we're thinking costa rica, bahamas, puerto rico, etc etc.
