weird sound

http://sonic.net/~eighth08/video/motor.WMV

does anyone know what that sound reminds them of?

i have been trying to figure this out for over 6 months and its driving me nuts.. i have checked my dip stick in the light and there is no metal in the oil or anything so i am doubting it to be an internal issue.. but at the sametime it very well could be.

It does sound sorta like a loose bolt, but it seems like it would show up at other RPM too. Try taking a long screwdriver and touch the tip to the head somewhere and put your ear against the handle, then rev the engine and move the tip around till you hear the noise get louder - if you don't end up narrowing the sound down to an area at least you will look really silly tryin!

Sounds like it could be anything from a loose "something" to a valve lifter issue. Dunno.

ya someone mentioned a valve lifter at one point, and i forgot what someone else said that kinda deflected that from being possible in this situation.

but i keep meaning to do the screwdriver to ear test. tomorrow morning i will try that out. thanks man.

someone also mentioned it could be a loose cat.. has anyone heard a loose cat before? i personally haven't.. ive always been catless lol.
