The only way I'm going to be okay with this is if his religious beliefs got in the way. Like if he was disparaging to a gay man in the organization... or the reason they don't practice on sunday's is due to him.

This has nothing to do with religious beliefs. There are reports that Jackson got into an argument with Kirk Lacob (owner's son and assistant GM). Jackson didn't want Warriors management (including Jerry West) to watch practice. Lots of tension between head coach and assistant coaches, and management. Didn't want to relocate to the Bay Area from his LA residence.

Jackson knew his time was up after the Clippers series. Even hinted to it with interviews from the press.

It was a good move to move on from Jackson. I give him credit he changed the mentality of the team and franchise but he was holding the team back. He didn't run any offensive sets and his rotations were horrible. His coaching staff was dysfunctional and he has a reputation of stirring things up when he feels threatened (see his time with the Jazz).

The only thing I worry about is upsetting Curry. Curry isn't leaving Golden State by any means after his contract is over, he won't pass up on the max contract.

Did you also see that the entire Warriors coaching staff got fired. Every assistant and even the video guy got a pink slip, now that's rough haha

Hopefully this situation is just like the Monta-Bogut trade. Everyone hates it at first but it works itself out in the long run.

Were Mark Jackson’s religious views an issue with Warriors? - Ann Killion

Rick Welts is gay, and I think it could definitely be a factor in the tension.

Turns out Papa said on the Radio that Jackson did not hold a sunday practice... EVER. Because he was down in LA doing his preacher thing. That church was also the reason he didn't move to the bay area.

So I wouldn't discount it.

Better than if Monta was here imo. Sure Bogut hasn't stayed healthy, but when he has been, he's played pretty well.

I was glad when Monta left. Sure he was fun to watch but there's no way we would get close to a title with him on the team.

He's too much of a Carmelo type. Ballhoggin' 24/7 and taking too many bad shots.

The team certainly has a lot to work on, and injuries were a bummer this year for sure, but I feel like this team is better than any team we're had in a long time.

Not only did firing Jackson **** off your best players, it also sent up a red flag to potential coaches and free agents.

Great job Lacob. Hope you weren't attached to that 51 win season, cause that ain't gonna happen again.

I think it's a bad move. You can't control what happened to Bogut, and I think Bogut would have gotten them past the first round. Griffin/DJ surely wouldn't have had the series they had.

1/5 starterss is 20% impact vs 1/22 like football it's ~4% (well besides the QB obviously).

...really

You think a back court of Curry, Thompson, Ellis would work...

Lee is the worst defender on the team, Bogut actually gives us a rim protector.

This won't affect their ability to get a quality head coach, there are agents and interviews. No candidate will say no to the Warriors based on what happened. The roster is too good, awesome fan base and a good ownership/GM group with Jerry West in the mix.

Besides this, what else has this management or owner have done that wasn't in the best interest of the team? The Monta trade was a good one. Don't forget Klay was on the team and they knew what they had in Klay. They got Iggy. They draft Barnes and after Mike Malone leaves for Sac, Barnes regress.

Stan / Jeff Van Gundy or George Karl, any of these three guys would've gotten more out this team.

Really?

You think I simply want Ellis?

How about a different center? Because that only applies when he plays. And ain't nothing changed with him. He had the injury issues before he came here.

Bogut in a way cost our coach his job.. Broken ribs are no joke, at least it wasn't an ankle injury. I just hope the team doesn't break up and the Curry stays with us without holding a grudge. The team has come along away since the new ownership took over.. jerry west is a genius. As much as I hate our coach being fired I want to stay optimistic and hunk thy it's going to work out for us.. Go Warriors (**** the clippers and griffin haha)

Maybe the Warriors could get a coach that teaches them ball security. Can you count how many close games they lost that 1 or 2 less turnovers would've netted them the win?
