used car question...

don't really know where to put this, but since this is the bay area forum... i assume you guys know the local dealers... so here are my questions:

(1)does anyone know if subaru has any kind of "certified used cars" things like acura, bmw, lexus? i will be in the market to buy a car in the summer of 2004. (2)also, if i buy a car from a private seller, am i able to get an extended warranty from subaru?

thanks

I think that if the car is still under warranty you can extend it...

I know that the greater the amount of time remaining on the factory warranty the less expensive the extended is.

There are many companies that offer extended warranties, so you amy be able to do a search online to do some proce shopping.

Good luck, and welcome to the wonderful world of subies and i-club.

thanks for the warm welcome. also, i've been doing some research online on various review sites, and i think i read that the impreza doesn't have fold down rear seats. is this true that the seats don't fold down to allow for more trunk space?

If you are referring to the sedan you are correct. They do not fold down.

Yeah the lack of folddown seats is one of the only 2 things I dislike about the Impreza. I think they designed the wagon with and the sedan without to make a more attractive feature owned only by the wagon. It can be annoying at times. But with creative thinking and starting with all doors open, you can fit many, many large and odd shaped objects into the Impreza's cabin

Oh the 2nd thing I don't like? The disgustingly thin paint.

how about the coupe? is it safe to assume that the seats don't fold down on those also?

I don't think the RS/L coupe's seats fold down either. I think they have fold down "Hole" though.

My most used mod to date was that bottle of touch up paint.
