I personally don't think spending $1k on a defi setup is worth it. I understand that they're very quick and accurate, but I'd assume there's something out there that could do the job and give you better bang-for-the-buck without sacrificing too much performance. I'm assuming there's a range of gauges where on the lower threshold the gauges have acceptable performance. The upper threshold is where the extra money spent gives you marginal returns. This is the range I'd consider. What the price range for these gauges? I honestly don't know.
As for extensive stealth setups, I've seen pictures of installs in the glove box and center console. Though they look pretty stealth, they don't seem too functional. I'm not sure how often you're really going to be looking down if they're located there. This kinda rolls back into why I'd prefer to not have gauges if they're not needed. It doesn't seem that there's a functional stealth place to locate them.
CN: I don't really have a budget but if I need to buy gauges, I'd probably only consider something that is reasonable performance/price wise. Some stealth gauge installs look impractical.

i'm still holding out hoping that gauges aren't really needed, but if i'm swayed to buy some I'll keep that in mind!
