unofficial 2008-2009 WARRIORS season thread....
i heard this as well.... they dont need crawford... he's good and all but we have too many guards. i like how CJ is running the point for now but i really want to see how he'll do against a good team. Teams they've played so far have weak defenses. Whatever, GO WARRIORS!!! that is all......

ESPN just reported that the Warriors & Knicks are allegedly working on a Harrington for Jamal Crawford trade. personally, i dunno why the W's would want Crawford. he gets buckets but can't play d.......basically more of what the w's have.
if they just want more firepower, they might as well go after Marbury. at least he has experience running the point. throw in Bellinelli and some other scrub if they have to.

looks like it will pretty much be a done deal..
I haven't seen Jamal play but we could use a bit more offense at the guard position instead of relying on Jackson all the time. Not knocking CJ, but the only promising offense we have in the guard position at this time is Morrow and Jackson. Watson is solid so far, but he doesn't really put up significant numbers.
I'm guessing the starting lineup if the trade goes through will be:
Morrow
Crawford
Jackson
Maggette
Beidrins

players available from knicks are rose or crawford...would u want to have m.rose instead? I never liked crawford...he is a bit of an underachiever who has mediocre offense -- but no defense. now that kelenna went down w/ sprained knee, i guess we can use his service. and im no on marbury...he has pretty much sucked a life out of every team he's ever been on. the man is a major cancer.
many, incl myself, have been calling for the w's to finally wake up and stop banging their heads on the wall w/their stubborn devotion to nellie's small ball style of play. yes, high scoring, run+gun games are exciting to watch, but you just can't get very far in this day and age w/that style of play (i.e. NO DEFENSE), esp in the ultra-competitive West. it took the Suns too long to realize it, and look where they are now.
it's just so dang frustrating watching the w's keep doing themselves in......year after year after YEAR. they keep blaming their woes on youth+inexperience, but, guess what, those problems were created by THEMSELVES. Mullin+Co insisted on drafting/acquiring+keeping guys like Troy Murphy, O'bryant, Dunleavy, Diogu, that Russian dude they finally let go a couple years ago, Bellinelli, ETC, ETC, ETC. they kept trying to plead w/fans to be patient and look at those guys' upsides & "potential." even when it was pretty clear that dudes like Murphy, Dunleavy, & Diogu were not panning out, they still held on to them.........they coulda traded the for more solid contributors if they moved earlier, but, no, they just sat on them until their trade values sunk deeper and deeper. it was a miracle that mullin dumped murphy+dunleavy off on the Pacers. but w/Al gone now, what do they have to show from all of that?

man, i really do hate getting down on the Warriors, but, again, it's just so dang frustrating watching them do themselves in time after time after time. i haven't even mentioned all the established players, incl ALL STARS, they've let go or chased away over the YEARS. now they go pinning their hopes+dream$$ on Monta, S-Jax, Magette, Brandan Wright, Randolph, Bellinelli, et al?? aye carumba.
fact of the matter is that they're their own worst enemies. period.
ultimately, i'll always root for the warriors, but i learned years ago to accept them for who they are. until they stop knocking their heads against the wall, they'll always just be destined to be more of the same........a rag tag bunch that's good for some exciting games here and there, but one that won't get very far.

btw, Marbury might not be the NBA posterchild of a locker room favorite, but guy has been good for 20 & 8 throughout his whole career. plus, he is a league vet that can play both the 1 & 2.
i like morrow a lot, but as far as i can tell, he's priarily an off the ball shooter. he can't really get to the hoop or create his own shot consistently. i don't think he can run the point either, which is one of the many needs the w's have right now. none of the w's guards, except for monta, is NBA starter caliber. morrow looks like he can be, but, really, he's just had 2 really good games under his belt. cj watson & demarcus are not starters and only have been by default. and don't even get me started about bellinelli aka dunleavy II. w's never ever learn their lessons.

it's official Jamal is a Warrior.
Plus the Knicks sent Zach Randolph to the Clippers for Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas.
They want enough cap space to get in on the Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Amare Stoudemire lottery next year.
Edit: Stephen A Smith said the Knicks now have enough cap space to sign any 2 of those superstars to a deal next year

Randolph showed a lot of promise though. He did pretty good getting 10 pts, 4 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 9 rebounds in 13 minutes.
Honestly, Brandon Wright and Anthony Randolph are almost mirror images of each other, but to me, Randolph seems much more promising.
And Marcus Williams, it's about time he made a basket (wide open, 2 feet away from the basket). This is the first game he's made a basket since he's been with the Warriors (he's missed all his shots and free throws previously for the whole season).

Brandon Wright and Anthony Randolph is interesting because the Warriors can essentially have the same player for all 48 minutes of regulation. LOL.

man, not much to say......W's just dropped their 2nd in a row vs Philly L are really hurting right now w/out a solid floor general. Capt Jack is captain of the squad in name, but they really need someone to step up and run the point or things could get really ugly.

almost time for crawford's debut w/the W's. w's need a win bad, but they couldn't ask for a better opponent than the Wiz, who are reeling even more than them this season. they better get this one cuz they'll probably get pounded tomorrow vs the Celtics.

^ it's too bad the warriors are getting owned. No defense, eleventy billion turnovers, no rebounds, and no offense against another team who plays no defense as well
Anthony Randolph is making ALOT of mistakes this game, where's Morrow (was he just a fluke?), Maggette isn't getting to the free throw line, and I forgot to mention the warriors suck
They're going to lose tomorrow as well.
