episode 7 was OK I guess..

My favorite part was when Tim Allen was featured, didn't realize he was that much of a gearhead.

You didn't? Only Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld are more well know for being car guys then him.

It's kind of amazing to me that they have not done some kind of cross over seeing as how TGUK and TGUS have both done episodes this season on each others shores...

OH MAN! I almost completely forgot about Seinfeld! He's Hammond!

Screw Adam Carolla! Tim Allen, Jerry Seinfeld, and Jay Leno are the dream team!

Something else that annoys me, and really sticks out like a sore thumb is their use of "witty" metaphors. It comes off as scripted and memorized instead of off the cuff. The magic of the UK show is the balance of obviously written (and appropriately placed) copy, and improvisation. I know this should come with time, but...

For example, I am watching the bit on the Morgan. Scripted voice over outside car shots- fine, but the in car stuff should just be spur of the moment seat of the pants impression.

And why in God's green earth would they go to Bruntingthorpe and not just take it to the GOD DAMNED TOP GEAR TEST TRACK?!?!?!?!?!?

GAh, and the obvious rehashes of the TGUK challenges.

I'm going to predict that the season finale will be a race across Vietnam on scooters.

Another thing - they need to not be afraid of having awkward silences. That is one of the elements that makes the UK version funny at times. It seems like the editors of the US version feel they need to fill every second of the show with talking.
