Point #1. Quirt is on the roll. Holy replies.
Point #2. Adam has spoken.
Point #3. Zoeb is still a Zebra.
---
Just a suggestion to all of you involved in this. Drop the stupid "show me the facts" additude. No one has any facts when it comes to pissing matches. All we have our personal opinions and **** we saw with our own eyes. To make MY point, I will shut "some" of you up. With "my facts".
Fist of all, 100 ECUTEK licences is nothing. VISHNU is THE largest ECUTEK seller in US. Last I saw the stats, they have sold OVER 1000 licences. So, the 100 licences that "Chrispy" managed to sell is n-o-t-h-i-n-g. Then you subtract the cars that were retuned from i-Speed ghetto tune to GRUPPE-S, VISHNU or S-Squared tune, you will have a handfull of cars running around. You want to check the stats, you can ask ECUTEK. So if Shiv is #1 with 1000 and i-Speed is #3 with 100, Quirt is correct, i-Speed is in the top 3, but they are so far behind the #1, that even if one was to kick Chris really hard in his lazy ***, he won't catch up to VISHNU...

you're smokin crack bro.
Adam. I personally commend you for sticking your kneck out. I think what you said is true. And personally, I know it effects your business, but I'd like to see more friends working on friends cars. Friendships start and get foundations that way. Justin is gonna help me work on my car this weekend. He's become a good friend of mine in a pretty short amount of time largely because we have a passion for cars.
I'm sick of all this territorial pissing. Everyone does it, has done it or will do it. Threads like this can be helpful if they stay on facts and personal experience and away from hearsay and rumor.
I can honestly tell you that I used to hate Bozz. I told Alex to his face the first time I met him. Not sure if he remembers. But over time I've had the opportunity to talk and hang out with Alex a few times, see what he's done for our community with his shop and this board and my opinions have changed. Alex is good people. I've enjoyed the few times we've kicked back a great deal and couldn't thank him enough for this website.
Saying that...we're all loyal to certain shops..that's how it is. You get treated right by someone, get good work, good prices or just the opportunity to become friends with them and you become loyal. Lic. Vishnu. MPJ. Gruppe-S. I-speed. Etc. They all have people that love them and people that aren't so fond of them. It happens. It's part of being one of quite a few shops in a relatively small area with a reletively large modified subaru commmunity.
Personally I think we should thank all of these shops for risking their lively hoods to be there for us. And for giving us deals they don't have to give. And for doing things they don't have to do. We're very lucky to live in the bay area around all these shops and very lucky to have things like UCKK to make friends and have installfests.
We'll be working on my car Sunday. Spec C's and Perrin exhaust here I come. WOOOOT.

OneManArmy,
You make a really good point.
I don't think the purpose of this post is to question anyone's loyalty to a certain shop. If you are loyal to a certain shop you will be loyal to it unless something happens between you and the shop. That is how loyal customers are both gained and lost.
Competence is another question. You can be loyal to an incopetent mechanic and/or tuner. If you are, you are their friend. And your friendship does not allow you to jump from their sinking ship.
Business ralationships also make you "stick up" for "troubled shops".

Wow! This is nuts.
I know, I never really visit I-Club. Just never moved over from the original one. The split sounded like some soap opera and that stuff always makes me lose interest. And I'm lazy, and I think I like the other color scheme better.
Anyway... I was feeling nostalgic for the old pre-WRX Subaru get-togethers/ install-fests etc. and since no one posts on the other site's Bay Area forum, I took a look here. And WTF?
I've known Bill, Chris, and Adam for over five years now, and they've been great help w/ my car since the first day I met them out at Thunderhill for one of the first Subaru track days. And I consider them all friends. They are knowledgable, helpful and friendly. Ok, Chris can be very direct and doesn't sugar coat things and that can be intimidating. But he's always been respectable, helpful and I knew where he stood.
I've had them help w/ everything from wiring gauges, to installing springs, to a WRX engine swap and ECU tuning. They have always been top-notch.
My car runs like a top at 105k w/ over 40k since the swap and 25k since the tuning. No problems. There was some additional fine-tuning, but no problems. Even if problems did occur, I know they weren't intentional. And I know the guys at I-Speed would find a way to make things right. They're striving to be the best and make it in this business. And they'll do what they have to, to do it. And I'd continue to go to them for future mods and service, if they were still in the Bay Area.
From all of my experience w/ them, they've always been great and this thread just boggles my mind and saddens me.

Freddie, you read one thing and you interpret it in that one "thuper thpecial" way that fits your twisted mind. That proves my point even further. Noone will convice you or more importantly WANTS to convince you that i-Speed is bad. I simply said that people will always defent those shops they are loyal to regardless of their reputation. The only way to really see the bigger picture is to be completely unbiased. Which, in our case is nearly impossible. And in your case, is simply uncomprehendale. So, if you are trying to be sarcastic or funny, include a "
". Otherwise, you not only appear completely ignorant, but also stupid for trying to "quote" things from me that I have never said.
While it is no surprise that I don't have much good to say about neither Chris or i-Speed as a whole, I have not really said anything here. I have said it all before and I don't feel like repeating myself makes any difference. Unlike you, mr. Broken Record that was used to beat a dead horse over the head.
And no, I am not being sarcastic.

I got my car tuned at I-speed almost half a year now and its running very strong with no issues. I have nothing bad to say about them. Bill always goes out of his way to answer any questions I have whenever I call him. He's a great guy. I was just there last week or two after Chris offered to dyno my car for FREE They spend half the day on my car and at the end, they charged me nothing. So, from personal experience I can't say Chris is money hungry. They treated me with respect and were very cool to talk too. Just my 2 cents....

First off quirt i suggest you put you gay *** pride in your pocket and STFU, no one is talking about the quality of your motors. I dont think a single blown motor can be attributed to your work. From all looks of things it has been tuning issues.
But here are the ones of people who i know personally.
Zoeb
Subydude
James
There are even others in this very thread who can attest to ****ed up afrs that are dangerously lean.
So again
SHUT THE **** UP if you have no clue what the **** you are on about. And i suggest you do stick your pride right up chris's ***. You know that same place you found your ****..

Today, Bill also has the best tools that money can buy. You seem to be stuck in the distant past.

You bet your *** i will be there, flying from the east damn coast to get there.
And when i get there you better bet your sweet little *** that i will say the exact same things to your face that i am saying on here.
Bill is a nice guy, a but misguided but a nice guy.
Chris is a self induldged dick who thinks he knows everything
You are a confused old man who makes motors that would be better served with better tuning.
I am a loud mouthed internet ******* who likes to tell it how he sees it.
