I'm sure this could still do well with more power and torque, but that's not the point of this car.

You are right 24.9 according to scion.com

More costly than I hoped. That means the brz premium will be close to 30k you can get an sti for 1500~ more. Meh.

I understand performance isn't hp/tq but its about value to me about what subaru is capable of relative to the cost.

-sti an be had for 32 or less
-sti has double the torque and more importantly a ton of unlockable power/tq if you see fit for cheap where brz=thousands and thousands to even get marginally close

I'd pay 22.7 same price I payed for my 04 wrx, but not 27-29

Indeed, theres no reason at all this should be more expensive than a WRX, the BRZ should be way cheaper to produce. Its basically just an impreza with alot less in it.

there is just going to be a turbo model sooner or later, they already have the turbo FA motor sitting on the shelf now, their not going to walk away from money sitting on the table, just a matter of what year it comes out.

yeah, I just hope it's within 2 years~. Hard to get excited about utilizing current technology in 5 years time, so lets hope they whip this sumbiotch together.

Maybe this explains the 100,000 a year production.

New information

Autoblog 3/26;
"I asked Masuda-san point-blank if indeed there will be an STI-style turbocharged BRZ by the time this generation reaches the middle of its life in two-and-a-half or three years. A number came out of his mouth that raised my eyebrows. "In future, there is the thought to have as much as 280 horsepower." Well, uh, gosh, that's even a bit more than I was gambling for. "And we are," he went on, "thinking very much about the possibility of a turbocharger." So, could we be digging on somewhere around 250 pound-feet of torque? The master would not confirm or deny, but he did say that such a model would probably not use the acronym STI."

AUTOEXPRESS.CO.UK 3/28;
Subaru’s Global marketing manager Atoshi Atake has given the best hint yet that the Subaru BRZ STI model is already in the works, saying to Autoexpress that “We have already had many requests from interested customers regarding a faster version. Let me say this – we will certainly satisfy our customers. We are already working on a faster version.”

However, the BRZ STI will not be turbocharged as some have speculated. It is likely to produce around 250bhp. “We can definitely develop the intake system,” Atake said. “There is certainly room for improvement there.” In addition, there is likely to be a freer-flowing exhaust and modifications to the engine’s variable valve control system, along with an even higher rev limit of around 7,500rpm.

I went to Maita Subaru here in Sac today to pick up a part for our Bugeye, I was talking to the guy and told him that I pre-ordered a BRZ the other day and he ended up giving me a Marketing preview book. I scaned the pages to put on here, some of you might find it cool/interesting.
