If tires were meant to be ran like that, how come they give out much sooner under similar driving conditions vs a "proper" fitting tire?
I never said it wouldn't give out under super aggressive driving conditions for long periods of time. But that can happen with "proper" fitting tires too. Maybe a slightly less risk, but still very possible. My point is that half these morons on here don't even drive their cars hard. So for someone who Daily's they're car, a stretch tire will be pretty much the same as a "proper" tire. Although, I still drive the **** out of the twisties around here with SnP

My new setup is 235 on 10 inch width so it's less stretch, but it's only cuz they didn't make a 225 in right wall size

Yes. My old sti's fenders looked like ****. And the car was keyed. And I still sold it for more than your wrx is worth.

What does that have to do with anything? I would hope that an STI would sell for more than a WRX? Especially when it's 2 or 3 years newer?

Moral of the story is, An Sti with **** fenders, ****ed up paint, and stretched tires on wide wheels is definately more valuable than a wrx with a "functional" setup. Although if you do the math, TECHNICALLY, the depreciation from all my damage should've made my car worth less. But all the buyers I had didn't believe so. But I mean what do they know right? We can only rely on you "functional proper" folks to determine how safe, reliable, and valuable our cars are.

I say again... what does that have to do with anything?

Your car cost $10,000 more new, was 2 or 3 years newer. Had far fewer miles and had parts on it... comparing two.... ah **** it. It's pointless..

fer réal... I'd rather just go to the beach and have a beer.

Like I said... to each their own. I actually like the way SOME of them look. Just not for me.

I have a very small stretch on my 18x8.5 225/40/18. I think the stretch look is ugly so I don't rock it plus it makes the car handle like crap. To each its own though I feel is your car and I'd you like it then that's all that counts, if you are happy with the car then more power to you! Just stay safe!
