In smaller calibers, AP rounds have a tungsten core under the copper jacket.
Bullet is a .50 BMG ball round. To the right is the AP core from a .50 BMG AP round

I buy cars at auction for carlots and I remember hearing about that at the vegas A.A. but never saw it. That is awsome.

Depends on where you live.
I believe in California, you can have the AP bullets as long as they're not assembled into cartridges.
Same goes for flechettes, which are the shiznit for a 12 gage.
While most surplus companies won't ship to CA, you can have them, as long as they're not assembled into cartridges.
But I could be wrong, so you're better off not posessing any of these fun, I mean, dangerous devices.
