Recent actions likely to eliminate red light cameras used in 19 cities.
Red light camera programs in at least 19 cities across the country are likely to be shut down this year following actions taken by courts and legislatures in the past two weeks... http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/01/174.asp
"Finally, in California a Superior Court appeals judge ruled last Friday that a red light camera ticket wasn't valid if the city failed to provide 30 days notice that the intersection where the citation was issued had a camera. The city of Costa Mesa has already refunded $250,000 to motorists wrongly ticketed. Motorists in other cities could mount similar challenges to their tickets under the same statewide law."
Interesting study showing red light cameras increased overall injury accidents... http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/01/117.asp

I have no opinion on the red-light cameras...I mean there are both pro's and con's to both sides of the argument.
But I do strongly believe something HAS to be done to all the red-light runners. Living down in the Silicon Valley...some of this ish is just plain ridiculous. At least once a week I see somebody entering an intersection where the light has turned red for at least 3 seconds. 3 seconds might not sound like a lot...but next time you're at an intersection...count out 3 mississippi's and see how many cars have started on the green light.
