my car just started to blink the red security light on the dash. my stock alarm system doesnt seem to go off either. and my lights dont blink when i lock and unlock my car. i disconnected my battery and plugged it back in it didnt help. i unpluged the security module harness near the ebreak and the light went away. but when i pluged it back in it came back on. what can be wrong?

Haha, I just posted the same question in security & Alarms section.
https://www.i-club.com/forums/stereo-security-70/factory-car-alarm-question-help-135720/
Mine started when I accidently hit one of the alarm buttons while shutting off the engine then it started.
I hope someone out there know the answer!!

Look in your user manual I had the same thing happen. You need to do a series of combinations with your alarm pad and ignition if I remember correctly.

haha that happened to me a while ago. its nothing bad, just some kind of random setting? check your use manual. to fix it i remember you gotta do some kinda code thing to get rid of it such as hold unlock for 2 seconds, open door, press this, hold that for 2 more seconds....iono too long ago to remember. gl

as far as pretty much every other security system goes, valet mode will basically let you use all of your automatic features (power locks, power trunk if you have it) while having the alarm disabled. You can also use the key to open doors\trunk without the alarm going off. You'd want it in valet mode while having your car washed or serviced. Well...at least that's what valet mode is for on my system. just my $.02.

while in valet mode, the car's alarm will not go off when the doors are unlcoked/opened with the key vs while the alarm is in normal mode, the alarm will still be set off when the doors/trunk are opened with the car key.

I think the point of valet mode is because most valets are stupid and will most likely set off your alarm
