Wow... That is horrible. I have been to Stevens Creek a few times, once to test drive a new Outback XT (2005 or 6 don't really remember) Not a horrible experience, but I wasn't really looking to buy anything.

However, Three people who work in the Service Dept. happen to be members here, and they are all really cool guys and they really did help me out when I organized the Annual BAIC Meet.

Overall I have found that Service is pretty good but Sales is extremely lacking...

If I do end up getting a car from a dealership, I know I am going to go to Santa Cruz Subaru. but that is just me.

The good guys may work in service but what is hurting them is the people the customers actually have to deal with and try to buy a car from. In 2006 and early 2007 we didn't have a problem with the sales guys. It was in 2008 when I tried to deal with them for a couple months I moved on. They need a better team to actually deal with the customers and until that happens people will go elsewhere.

I have really never had to deal with salesmen when ive bought my cars. I always go in with a pre-approved loan from my bank/credit union. However its good to know they have some monkey of a sales slob thrashing cars there. It will make me hesitate to buy any car from them now.

My recommendation to anyone looking for a car, is get a loan someplace. Walk in with a set number in your head that includes tax and license. Last time I bought new, was for a friend, walked in, walked past the salesmen to the managers office. Gave him a flat number (24,000, almost 6000 under the asking price) cash, on the spot, Tax and License included. He said no, we got up, only made it to the door before he said yes, and drove away with the car.

got to play hardball with sales people, scum of the earth most of them are.

I had no problems interms of the sales staff I found them to be very helpful. I had this guy Kash help me get my car he told me stuff about the cars and his bosses (which I should not know). I have yet to try out the service department. Well the plus side is there is a subaru opening in burlingame so I can try them out once they open.

Car Info: 2004 STi,sold.
In the spring of 2004 I went to Sunnyvale Volkswagen to see if I wanted to buy the newly arrived R32. To my surprise, the salesman offered me a drive. As I drove through the parking lot,he told me how much all the sales staff enjoy taking the R32s out for fun drives. Since the engine was new and cold,I pulled slowly onto El Camino. The salesman told me to wind it out and see what it can do. I bought a new STi from Carlson where they aren't allowed to be driven and all had under ten miles.

when we bought our sti's at SC they didn't let you test drive them either. I did like that aspect back then. Our cars only had 3 miles on them.

Yeah, I got an average deal. I didn't sweep the dealer off his feet but I did't get a lot of fees pushed back on him. In the end everyone was happy.

I think you might want to re-consider that statement. Unit 91 is the parts manager there, has two i-club members working for him - so I suggest you might try the parts department before painting the entire place with the wrong color brush. Have you ever been in there?

The parts ppl are cool. They've helped me with my 01rs. I think when most people say "the dealership" they're referring to the customer facing group, the salespeople. There are different parts to a dealership and I think the all perform differently at Stevens Creek Subaru.

I do know that there is a hottie asian chick who works at the tuning shop next door to Stevens Creek. Also, there's an asian saleswomen working at stevens creek. She's hot too.

Yeah, it was just the blanket "genetic cesspool" statement that I had a problem with. I've enough dealership experience to know that it works like three businesses under one roof - but people can have a completely different experience from department to department. I don't want to see the entire place painted by reviewing the actions of one department.
