Well, if you bought your OBS from Santa Cruz you'd get that 10% discount on all parts and the crush washer would be only $0.45.

Thumbs down

Sorry to Dig up an old Thread.

I notice it has been over a month since a reply (and close on for my own post).

No matter how busy you might be, there is simply no excuse. This 'project' was initiated by you, not by us. The desire for change came from you, and the opportunity offered by us. Even if you couldn't answer, you should have gotten someone to. It should have been obvious that the sort of change you were looking for would require the creation of two or three job positions of people who would take care of just complaints and such as the like offered on this board.

I for one would have been happy to simply borrow the tools needed for the job and let my mechanic handle it. That's a show of a good faith. Or for a confirmation of the problem and maybe some free gas for driving on down. That's a demonstration of technical competence. Immediate scheduling for In-Out service of the seat Recall. That's a demonstration of commitment.

Words are just words. Change is an action and as such requires action. If you want to learn about customer service, and this experience _right here_ suggests to me that you have at best a tenuous grasp at a vague understanding of the word, you would have to start at the bottom. I would suggest, in all honesty, working for a year as a waiter and supporting yourself on those wages alone.

This simply makes your reputation worse. For my business at least, You would have to do something absolutely extraordinary now to even reconsider.

one of the sales reps came to my girlfirneds work the other day and was talking about subarus. She smirked and said 'my bf LOVES subarus' and he tried to give her his card, she was like 'no, he already has a subaru he wont need this' and the sales rep responds 'No, this is for his NEXT subaru'.

This guy wasn't even at work and he was already pulling the sales BS they do at that dealership.

I will always go to Santa Cruz Subaru. I will not even go to the stevens creek one to buy anything, only if they give stuff away.

every time i drive by SCS, i think about this thread...

the freak's actions are absolutely astonishing. Coming on this board to ask what went wrong, starting a ruckus, and just letting the thread die by not returning. I hope SCS goes under, and I wish there was something that could be done to get the word out about what an unprofessional dealership they are.

I'd bet sales started to pick up again so he figured it was a waste of time.

many times filling up at gas stations I have older guys ask me about my subaru and wanting to get one.
I tell them to go to Santa Cruz, they will get the best deal, and best service, and that Stevens Creek is AWEFUL.
I have told this to at *least* 10 people when they asked me at stop lights, or gas stations.

I remeber one time I called for a price on the factory boost gauge. I figured it was close by and I'd give it a try. So after waiting on hold forever I finally get someone at the parts department

Me: I was wondering what your price was for the column mount boost gauge.
SC empolyee: $576
Me: Wait.. Thats for the the single boost gauge that mounts on the column not the 3 gauge that mounts above the console?
SC employee: Yeah its $576.
Me: <hang up>

wow....
the cute santa cruz chick that works at the Santa Cruz Subaru parts counter is more helpful then that. I went in and asked for the turbo exhaust side outlet gasket, she walked away for 10 seconds, and came back with exactly what I asked for, and another 5 seconds later she gave me the correct price.

another -1 for stevens creek
another +1 for Santa Cruz!

Bruce: Thanks, sorry, I do tend to write a lot ^^;;

I've had one and just one interaction with santa cruz... they are rather far from where I live, But i'd be willing to go back. This is why....

A long time ago (when I learned a valuable lesson) I needed to replace a sideskirt. It wasn't actually something that I could do, due to damage, but at the time I thought I could, so I ordered the part.

Now, when the part came, they advised me that there was some very minor damage when the item arrived, and if I wanted, they'd order another one and send it back. I was pressed for time and decided to just go ahead with it.

When I showed up, the parts manager came by, and showed me the piece... at the bottom INSIDE edge (that is, not just the side facing the ground, but under... facing the inside of the car, where no one would EVER see it unless the car was on jacks) there was a tiny, quarter inch scuff mark.

That was it. It literally took me a minute to see what they were pointing out. If they didn't say anything i would never have noticed it was there. It is completely small and insignificant... the kinda thing you write off as normal.

They were extremely apologetic about it. The parts manager gave me, for free, an STi key chain (the kind that separates for valet). That's a pretty small gesture, and only like $15 if one was of a mind to buy one...

But like we learned as children, it's the thought that counts.

That's customer service. You could probably just give away keychains til the cows came home, but that's a hollow imitation. This is the sort of stuff SCS, nor even You, understand. This is WHY I said you should support yourself on a waiter's wage for one year to learn about customer service.

Like I said, change is an action and requires action. All we have gotten are words... repeated statements about how YOUNG and IN LOVE with subaru your sales people are. That means absolutely nothing to me. I'm sure there are Slum lords and rapists who are young and in love with subarus. That is neither evidence of change nor improved custmer service. That is merely a tangentially relevant characteristic that your sales people should have ANYWAY.

At this point, I don't know what you can do to change my mind, but I'm sure it would cost your dealership far more than it wants to. I know the sort of shortsighted business model being employed here.

You mentioned that you printed out a post to 'teach' your sales crew. I suggest you print out my posts and show them to the owner of SCS.

Let THEM understand what is making us say "Don't ever come back".

Hello, I went in there couple of days ago here's how it went.

I went in there was approached by salesman, he took my license, I bet he did a credit score report on me while I went for a test drive. They asked me what color I said 06 Aspen white, now they said they didn't have any instock and told me to come inside and allocate one. Me and my family said sure ok, then they asked me what other color I preffered then white I said black. They then told me they would sell me a black one for 26k, alright sounds like a good deal, but they didn't meantion it was a TR. I said no i want a regular sedan and they told me it was 28k+ fee's. I laughed, and my parents started donig calculations, and stuff and they kept pushing for me to buy it saying that it's a deal and that I would never find one for cheaper, and they told me they were the #1 dealership in Northern California and numbers dont lie. My dad said 26kOTD and said take it or leave it and he walked out, the salesman was pretty pissed while me and my mom laughed at the salesperson. We then decided to leave while the guy comes running out saying 26kOTD with free boost gauge for the TR i said no thanks im going to find it for 26k OTD somewhere else and the then proceeded to insult me in some foreign language im thinking spanish, but i am not sure. Eitehr way i know for sure he wasn't saying have a good day.

Cliffs: SC wanted 28k+ fee's, I said 26kOTD they refused i left and salesman(Jonathan) being unprofessional and said some things in another langauge

You should see if they ran a credit check on you without your permission. It will show up if they did. And i'm pretty sure it's illegal w/o your consent.
