I'm sure Woz isn't to upset these days about the pay he got for the work he did. People make it sound like he hosed him out of millions... not hundreds.

I'd say if he was the money hungry bastard everyone makes him out to be he probably would have taken more than $1 a year as salary. (Not that stocks didn't make up for it)
Umm from your link it says thousands not hundreds. So being a theif / scam artist is OK if its only a little bit?

Yes $1 a year............. with tons of perks. How about that philanthropy he did? Good job you are the richest man in the cemetery.

The topic of the death of Steve Jobs is a perfect example of American propaganda hype machine. Instead of the masses concentrating on the important things, the fan boys would rather morn the loss of someone who pretty much customized a smartphone for idiots so they can operate it and they still believe he's **** don't stink.

Steve Jobs = innovative? Yes very much

I lit a candle for him last night...I downloaded an app on my android phone.

Haha I don't love steve jobs, from what I've heard he was a big douchebag to everyone (I know people who know people who worked for him so it may not be accurate but it probably is)

And I hate apple products...bought an ipod in 2003 and have never gotten anything else or another ipod because I hate the mac os (grew up with pc at home, mac at school)

I have so many songs that can't just be bought off itunes so I haven't updated my ipod since the computer it was synced on stop workin in like 06

Mom just got a mac desktop thing cuz she said its easier to use but I dislike it a lot..would rather use my old *** pc

(So no, not everyone loves steve jobs ha)

And I think that $1 a year salary is pretty arrogant - comes off to me as "I'm so rich and important that I can take a $1 salary and still be VERY well off"

Will the world weep when Donald Trump passes away? Probably not

I'll weep the day Hugh Hefner passes away

This is an example of how someone with a preexisting mindset can interpret anything as negative.

Yes it means he's rich enough to take a $1 salary. That hardly supports the notion of arrogance though.

I had a professor back in college who "hit it big" with an invention he made but loved to teach so (rumor has it) that he worked as a full time prof for the U for only $1 per year. Rich enough? Yes. Arrangance? Irrelevant.

That being said, there was a fear at Apple. Fear that you didn't want to get on an elevator with Steve Jobs because you might exit it with a pink slip (if you couldn't present yourself well impromptu)

What strikes me is how not old Jobs was when he died. Dying at 56 is too short.

Steve Jobs liked computers, computer animated films, and smart phones before they were cool.

In his 2005 Stanford commencement speech, Jobs says:

You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.
That's really easy to say when what you love generates loads of money.
