Hey all,
I think I might need to tighten a belt somewhere but I wanted to ask other subie owners. I've been getting a squeeky sound coming out of the engine bay now on and off for a while. It's louder usually at idle, and either it goes away or the engine noise drowns it out when moving. Not consistently squeeky either. Thoughts?

 

Welcome to Sound Diagnostics 101 - never, ever try to diagnose a sound via phone, e-mail, internet, interpretive dance or drawing. It will rarely be right.

Take the car to someone who can listen. If you were closer I'd say to come on by the shop, but you're sort of far.

 

make a drive north to LIC or south to GST. They will help you out and will probably know what it is right away.

tell the band of squirrels living by the firewall to stop doing it when you're stopped.
