Sputters and pops when I rev to 3k rpm at a stop...

It's been suggested I'm running lean. My only mod is a catback exhaust. Thoughts?

mine is doing the same thing. Generally after reving when it drops back down...right at the 2k point.

Pissing me off. My car is running like dooooky right now. Seriously considering tossing the cat back. Even though I love it and it does give me a bit more top end punch.

I have a small exhaust leak that might be part of mine...Bah...I'm thinking of bringing it to mike and begging for assistance.

it could also be if you have an 04/05 the open/closed loop fuel delay.
Though I think it might have something to do with free flowing mufflers.

What exactly is the noise you are hearing and does it make your car bog at all?

check the plugs, make sure they're not fouled... sounds like it's running too rich...not lean..

It's an 04 STi, Stromung Dual Tip catback. Plugs are fine. I don't notice any bog beyond the normal turbo lag. Actually, thinking about it... I do have an unusually high amount of buildup on the tips of the muffler, which might mean it is running rich.

The sound I hear is either a single pop that's fairly loud (almost like a backfire), or a series of smaller pops that are almost like rumblish sound.

turn the anti-lag switch to "off" for around town.

That's not quite the effect I'm getting... Be a little cool, but then again, not so much.

I get the rubble sounds..not like big backfires.

Semi normal. But since I've put it on I've also had issues starting it and it runs weird from time to time. Low idle. like 500. And it'll bog out from time to time.

I've got to fix the exhaust leak. Get a new battery and rerun the power wires to my amps. If that doesn't solve most of it...the cat back is either going or it's getting an apt. with a perrin downpipe.

mine is 04 wagon.

Yeah... I'm looking at a downpipe and getting it tuned. I figure that'll "solve" some problems ;-)
