Ok so as the thread subject says I have a 2002 Wrx that sputters. Originally the car would only sputter after a hard drive , I would than park it and let it idle for a few minutes and than it would begin to sputter and the rpm level would drop and be around 400rpm and the boost gauge which normally reads 19psi would go down to 10. When the car does this if you rev the engine up and drive it the problem would go away and it would run normal. However now the car has started doing this when first starting , it will sputter around 400 rpm and even stalls out because the idle is so low. The only thing thats throwing me is when you drive it like this with the problem and your in gear and the rpm level rises the car starts bucking and the turbo is spooling but is very loud as if the motor is going to blow. Also the car has intermittent starting problems like its not getting enough fuel and sometimes it just clicks. From all the symptoms im thinking the crank position sensor and camshaft position sensor could be the problem, but more leaning towards the camshaft sensor being the problem and perhaps it's throwing off the valve timing . Any have opinions on this or experience similar issues at all?
