I know the subject of engine oil has been beaten to death! And i've read every sticky and FAQ on multiple forums... and the topic is so broad im kind of looking for a more application specific answer from someone who knows a little about oil. After reading all those threads about oil, littered with acronyms, I need a little help.

I live in NW Montana, Winter can get to as low as -35 F... Summer can get to 100 F... those are extremes, average low temps in winter are like probably in the 20's and low 80's in the summer. I don't have a block heater yet, I'm planning on getting one. I park outside. My car is built. It runs Castrol Edge with STP 5W-40 Syn

I need to know if this oil is good for my engine? Or should I switch?
