Let me drop a little knowledge on the subject - I know a lil bit about this....
For anyone looking to get a skyline brought into CA - good luck. The 'show or display' route? Good luck with that too. the likelihood of being able to do either is not good.
Sean Morris isn't just any guy. He's got connections and knows his shyt.
If you want to buy a Skyline anywhere in the US, get the VIN of the Skyline (BNR3xxxxxxx) and then call USDOT at (202) 366-5291. Ask them for a report on the car and it was brought into the US legally. If it was, you get a nice letter from NHTSA and DOT. If it was not, be prepared.
Oh, and trying to bring cars in from Canada? Good luck with that too. Maybe if you lived in any other state than CA, maybe.
25-year rule? Again, F-U California for being the strictest state in the nation. There are loopholes that you can find - like having an address in another state and reg'ing the car there. You can drive once in a while in CA but get in trouble or noticed too much by the law and your car will be gone.
And then, let's say you did get the car here - good luck getting parts. I hope you have lots of cash reserves cause the good parts, come in from Japan and Australia. And I hope you have a shyt load of patience and a good mechanic to do your work.
And finally, once you get it out on the track, be prepared to be slightly disappointed. You will not be the fastest but everyone will expect you to be. You'll get the haters, the gawkers and other ****'s challenging your shyt all day.
But at the very least, you have something the others don't - a muthafookin skyline.
Enjoy....

How different is it to import any other cars without having to dismantle and rebuild into a shell, JDM or EDM?
