So I go pulled over by CHP today on 101 in San Mateo and...
Many cops are *******s, I'll give you that, but I don't think race played a part in this particular case.

try being a little less ignorant. sure there are some bad apples out there, like every profession, but with the screening and background processes departments have in place these days, its much harder to find a racist cop, especially a young one.

ROFL - perhaps your view is skewed by your affiliation.
My wife was driving up the 101 in a very lightly trafficked area north of Cloverdale - going through a mountain pass speeding along at around 95 mph - all the while commenting about the off-camber banking that the highway was constructed with, and comparing it to the autobahn.
We come out of the last turn, and are starting this straightaway when all of the sudden, coming southbound is a CHP - I tell her to simply pull over. He was stomping on his brakes to turn around, so I knew it was just a matter of time, so we saved him the effort and pulled over.
That cop was a complete a**hole, wrote her up for the entire 95MPH - and I had to sit there and bargain with him in order to get it backed down so she could attend traffic school. She'd pulled right over, had license, registration and insurance in hand, hadn't ever been pulled over for anything before, and he was just going apes**t.
BTW, there was not one other car in sight when we were driving.

He did cut me some slack though and only wrote me up for 80, so I got to preserve my squeaky clean record after all.

The OP is lucky; he could have been fined for tint and no front plate. If the SPT intake didn't have a carb number on it, that's another fine and maybe a trip to the state ref.

I really think it's how I talked with the cop and how I was very respectfull and made him fell safe talking to me.
Talking nice to cops nets you next to nothing 99% of the time. In fact, some of the old jaded bastards would probably take kindness as some kind of backhanded insult.
Next time I get pulled over I'm forgoing the pleasantries, not engaging them and just handing over my paperwork. The faster I get the inevitable ticket the faster I can get to where I'm going.
