DJ,
you'll have a blast in SoCal, esp @ USC. The campus is nice, and so are the hunnies. Sure, "University of Spoiled Children" is well deserved, but all the better to find yourself a hot $ugar momma!!
SoCal is a GREAT place. I really miss it!

lot of reference to the hunnies. i remember watching the parade of sorority pledges walking down towards the row one morning during rush week. seemed like thousands of them, lasting for at least half an hour. if you want the hunnies, rush a frat, otherwise you are immediately exempt from dating half the girls on campus

Congrats on starting college at USC from a fellow Trojan! I graduated from its business school in '97. It's a great school and you'll enjoy it. It has the best alumni network in the world. There're some SCIC members go to USC and I'm sure you'll make some lifelong good friend at school. Yes the area around the campus is not that great but it's not like you are going to hang out there all the time. There are a lot of mentions of rich kids/girls there, it's only partially true. There are only a small % of very rich kids there (like any other school), most students have loans/financial aids and drive an ordinary car.
LA is LA, people love it or hate it, it's all personal opinion. I'm from the westside (Santa Monica, West LA) and I enjoyed living there very much and moved up here only for job reason.
If you get a chance, attend a USC/UCLA or USC/ND football game, its quite an experience. Did I mention USC got the best cheerleaders?
