first off, USC is a nice campus, but its surrounded but the ghe-tto(inglewood) Ive seen people get mugged on the USC campus
In general so cal is pretty ghe-tto IMHO, I grew up there for 20 years and the differnce between nor cal and so cal is almost night and day. Dont expect to make any friends outside of the people you go to school with, people down there in general are not friendly to people they dont know and strangers are hardly ever welcome anywhere, especially at parties where you dont know most of the people that are there, you will more than likely get into a fight. I was blown away when I moved up here and friends would say,"why dont you come to this party tomorrow night?" and the first thing I would think was, "Hell no, I dont know anyone else there, I'll get my azz kicked." Was odd to find out thats the way it works up here, you dont automatically get into a fight by showing up to a party where you dont know people, amazing.
Anyhow, dont mean to be a downer, you'll see what So Cals all about once you get down there and figure out how to fit in there best, have fun

Word on all that. The best thing I ever did was move from socal to norcal. I lived in socal for 14+ years and I couldn't wait to escape that hell-hole. Everything you said is true and the sad thing is that is only the tip of the iceberg.

Southern cali is not that nice and definately not around USC. Stray a few blocks east of campus to find out what I mean... but it's a damn fun campus. Stay away from those tri-delts though.
Good luck. If you're single, you'll like it there much more than here. Just becareful of the snotty *** rich girls @ USC. There are TONS of them there. Good luck and have fun. You're gonna hate the summer there. haha
AHEM!!! not ALL of socal that ghetto. in fact, the area i'm moving to is much much much more glam than ALL of the bay area put together. however, i am talking about orange county. (brea, laguna, lake forest, dana point... you get the picture) los angeles is deffinately not my favorite place to be, but honestly... this will be a great experience for you. there is SO much to do in that area... and a ton of culture. i've been to at least one socal iclub meet and it was pretty cool. people were pretty friendly. a lot of i-club members go back and forth between bay area and socal, so don't worry you won't be all alone. good luck!

socal is tons of fun. WAY more stuff to do there. AND the hunniez actually bother to try to look good.
but watch out for that LA attitude.. 95% of the people down there have it. although you're sure to meet a few good peepz at school who'll become lifelong friends.
