thanks downsti and wrxbrah for your help... I honestly appreciate it.

So I drove up to GST (30mins each way) to get a new smog map with that monitor on... I was planning on then putting my oem dp back on, then realized I only have my cobb cbe which will have the donut/flat flange fitment issue...

I then get home to find that that smog map wasn't saved to my AP (by Mike)... royally FML. Everything that can go wrong, is seeming to go horribly wrong for me. Then I try to call them this AM, and the # is disconnected. HA! How's that for some sh*t stew.

wow CA ughhhhhhh. slight thread hijack in the middle of this post.

1) i've seen folks who just bolt the stock dp w/ donut straight up to a full 3inch and then glob it full of RTV :/

2) I Didnt know you could fail the visual with an aftermarket IC are the carb numbers on the side? i gold taped mine all up

3) i thought the OBD ready issue was related to ECU reset (reflash does the same thing), which requires you to drive around for meeeehhhh 100-400 miles (several "drive cycles") to get back into the "ready" state.

This may be irrelevant to your current situation, but since I've seen it mentioned a couple times in this thread, I just want to point out that the sniff test is no longer required for model years 2000+. Surprised no one said anything yet lol. They rely on just ecu readings and are very keen on visuals. . Anyway, good luck!

As of last week, there was still a sniffer test.

Had the same donut fitment issue. Just put the stock DP on, Get some smaller bolts/nuts that will fit through the stock DP holes and tighten them up. Even though it doesn't 'fit' I didn't have any leaks. Besides, once you drive around everything heats and expands and seals up nicely, just make sure your car is nice and hot and there is no wait

Did you guys get smogged this year? I got smogged in mid-January, and they didn't put the sniffer on.

"AB 2289 - New Smog Check Law

Set to begin January 01, 2013; Model year 2000 and newer vehicles will no longer require the tailpipe emissions test portion of the smog check process. AB 2289 will require late model vehicles be administered the smog check's visual and functional tests only.

The implementation of AB 2289 is expected to reduce the time and cost of the smog check. The program will now take better advantage of a vehicle's OBD II technology by eliminating tailpipe testing and instead using the vehicle's own OBD II emissions monitoring system."

HEY just saw this on rallysport.

think its new, havent seen before:

GrimmSpeed OEM Downpipe to 3in Cat Back Adapter Subaru Turbo Models 077046 at RallySportDirect.com

it's basically the reverse of their other adapter that people get confused about.

stock dp to 3 inch CBE

Well then damn, I'm confused then. Can someone fill me in on this please because when I got smogged this year in January, the smog tech told me that it wasn't required. I mean, I passed, but now I'm just puzzled. Sorry to thread jack but I'm sure you guys have some useful information for me. I'll take your guys' word for it though and thanks!
