I had both the legacy GT wag and forrester (??? model) on separate servicings at Santa Cruz Subaru (again, they rule) and my wife and I both agreed that we liked the forester better. More head room, more usable room in back, better vis, etc.

I drove the legacy GT wag and it RULES. Such a nice interior, too. Have not yet driven the FXT.

Done up the way I like them, the legacy is probably too much $$$

But... as wrexxy correctly noted, work is not stable and any decision will wait until after issues are resolved.

I am not getting rid of the WRX. Now just have to decide what to get when we kill the Blazer... which might not be too far away the way the wife drives.

i voted for keeping the WRX. save the money -- you can put it into a money market account for a rainy day, invest it, put it towards a house, etc. the stealth factor and slight improvement in convenience isn't worth the depreciation you'll be incurring on a new forester.

money decisions like this one will dictate how you spend your retirement years! heck, just put it away for your child(ren)'s college fund.

Already have the house. Am saving well for retirement. Thanks for the concern, though. College fund is a good one, though!

cool, cool. but you do want the option to trade up for a bigger house in a better location, right? also, if even one of your kids go to stanford, s/he will break the bank!

Meh, we're pretty happy with the house. I'm sure that won't change for a good long while.

The college one is good, though. Definitely not secure enough for Stanford. hahah!!!

Day trips are fine. Anything longer and I don't want to leave her.

If I'm not mistaken you have a sedan right? I'd trade it for the wagon, then you'd have the room, plus a wrx, so your a winner.

Wagons are better anyway

I was just kidding. That's why I had the wink icon at the top of my post. Teach me not to put it in the body.
