i got a parking citation in san francisco. on the ticket, they got my plates wrong. i have custom plates, and they wrote it down as a 0 instead of an O. it claims my VIN was covered, so they weren't able to get my VIN. on vehicle make it says "MISC." should i pay it?

 

wait for the ticket in the mail... but if you know you're in the wrong.. then yes.. pay the f'in ticket

 

i thought O's are 0's and 0's are O's? i dont think the O letter exists for plates. why would it?

don't know, but on the ticket it has a slash through the O so that'll be a 0. when i was getting the plates, they asked me if it was an O or a 0 and i told them it's an O.

yea, it's been almost 3 weeks since i got the ticket (3/26). it's just now when i'm about to pay it i realized they don't have my VIN.

 

they probably would slash thru an O as wel as a 0 so they dont get them confused with 6's or Q's.

yeah wait for mail, if you dont get any then youre good, but usually it takes a while before you get any mail.

 

same happened to me like 1 year ago. the wrote my license as EJ25WRK ( it is EJ25WRX)and i have a AWD warning sticker covering the VIN. never got anything in the mail so never bothered to follow up on it to see what happened

 

just pay it, it's not worth what could happen to you lol

 

I got a ticket from a bus stop (waited there for about 20sec -_-). I drove off and a month later i got it in the mail, ticket was about $250. They don't need your vin number just your plate number.

Wait imo... unless you have **** load of unpaid parking ticket LOL

 

i dont think there is O in the license plate. but just wait for it in the mail.

 

what he said, theres only 1 0-O character for plates, you probably saw this when you went to the DMV site to make your custom plate in the first place, but yeah, your getting that ticket

 

not worth the bench warrant. pay up.

 

parking tickets dont turn into bench warrants, they just dont let you re-register your car

 

you're right, there's no choice for 0 on a custom plate, so that's why i got O instead of 0. sorry, it's been over 8 years since i filled out that form. i bet that the person that wrote the ticket probably didn't even know that you can't have a 0. probably just assumed 007 is 007 and not OO7.

when i went online to check, there's no ticket for OO7 but there is a ticket for 007. so we'll see. i don't have a problem paying it. it's just the joy of being able to get a ticket off that i'm looking forward to...doesn't look like it'll happen now.

 

or, i believe if you have over 5 unpaid tickets they can boot or impound your car.

i think i just jinx myself. i have a feeling i'm receiving the 2nd notice in morning.
