short shifter install

alright the damn kartboy won't go in. I've tried hammering it and it doesnt want to go in. any tips?

Hope you are using a mallet, but just hit it harder. It will go in.

if this is for a WRX, this is what I did. sorry but I tried the whole rubber malet thing once or twice and the thought of "pounding" the lever in there was not good.

I took a long screwdriver. when I say long I mean long enough to wedge against the metal bracket in the console. then I loosely attached the fork and leveraging down where it attached to fork. the shifter pops in with minimal effort.

sorry it's hard to describe in words. 0\- 0=shifter and fork connection, \ = screwdriver and -=bracket in console.
