You're not 6'2" and 215, are you?

They are assuredly not the same size inside. They claim they can carry four 6'4" people "with room to spare", but when I sat in one at the San Francisco auto show, I was disappointed. Barely more room than say, a Celica in the back seat.

Now if you want REAL back seat legroom, check out the Scion xB. It had more legroom of any car at the SF auto show, including the 7 series BMW and the S-class Mercedes.

Yeah, I'm 6'6" and like 220... Fitting in cars sucks for me.

The Scion would be cool if it werent modeled after a borg cube.

Haha, touche.

There is decent room for the driver in a mini. A friend of mine just bought one and he seems to like it fine.

The Scions are definately made for a different breed... They're bizzare, but so is the WRX. I had to really come to grips with having form over function when I took that plunge...

Go for it.
I've flogged one that belongs to a friend of mine at work and I must say the only way to describe the cooper s is that it's a street legal go-cart.
You will have much fun. get rid of those silly runflats they come with (put PS2s on it) and hit the road , a few runs through one of the nicest gear boxes I've ever felt and you'll forget the suby and its quirky tranny!
I fit nicelyin it too, though I am not as tall as you my girth(non penile) definitely out-proportions you.

Actually... here you go:

- ditch the Scooby
- buy a Scion xB (the borg box)
- buy an SV650

VOLIA! You've hit the utility and performance bases and everything in between.

- nobody will try to race you in the Borg Box
- smooth Toyota ride and quality
- you'll save money
- the SV is faster than nearly every production vehicle money can buy
