meh.

Am I the only one that cant understand how the STI they sell now only has 5 more hp (and 10 less lbs of torque) than the one I bought 9 years ago?

But hey, at least it got heavier and more expensive, right?

Okay so I got a quote from the dealer, the sales guy I talked to told me that the used 2008 sti is going for 30k+tax, clean title, no problems. A brand new sti hatch unloaded would be 33673+tax. If you're serious about it let me know!

Haha, that is ridiculous! In 2007 I bought my 2004 STi for $23K (only 22k miles on it too). Private party sale ftw.

More then likely because it was a private party ;-) that plus with the 2008 estimated to come out sometime in 2007 im sure that person just wanna to make money in case his 04 value took a nose dive. :-)

I don't know who larry fung is, I'm not that close to the sales department, I work as a service tech. I was talking to samuel levy since he was the only one that was in the office when I went to ask. his number is 510-544-9160(cell) if you wanna talk to him, just say Kevin the service tech talked to you the other day, or something along those lines. honestly, if you ask all the sales people, I'm sure they will all give you a different value.

But yes, private party sellers are awesome, bought a 2005 sti 3 months ago for 24k with 26k miles.

thats still absolutely ridiculous. Also the 2008 STI had an MSRP $1,100 LOWER than the 2012, so they're actually only discounting it $2500 over a brand new STI. Wow.

Sounds like they're trying to work someone over then. I'd say pass on that and get a brand new WRX or find an 08+ STi from a private seller.
