I would just do the WRX , put the money into stage 2-3 cobb , and then get a nice set of wheels , brakes , coilovers. You will be faster then an STI , Handle better then an STI , Brake harder then an STI and possibly look better with the upgrades you decide on cosmetic and what not.

You answered it yourself. You are going to regret whenever you see 2012 sti drives by. Get STI.

when i bought mine in 05, the sti was tempting but there were a few factors that led me away from it and to the wrx. first were the wing, hood scoop, and interior. i thought they were a bit obnoxious compared to the wrx. second, i thought for what i wanted (a dd with occasional spirited driving), things like brembos, dccd, and a spray jet intercooler were overkill. the wrx was a good fit for me at the time and i don't regret my decision even now. the only thing i regret is not picking up a set of 5x100 bbs when they were reasonably priced

in your case however, it sounds like you have reservations about the wrx. if you could swing it, go for sti new or used.

I actually want the used 08 silver sti from carlsen. Find out why its not been sold yet. I think there might be some history behind that car. ;-) If its clean title with no history I may lowball them just to get it off their hands
Lol you want that sti? It's been sitting there for ages!!!!!! I'll ask them about it for you. And maybe I can get a cheaper price since I work there, who knows haha.
