SCCA Needs Volunteers for Events!

A customer asked me if I knew of anyone that could help out on weekends (not every weekend) for their Auto-X events. You would also be working (or maybe have the chance to sign up to work) for real races such as the ALMS and whatnot.

http://www.sfrscca.org/content/section/12/36/
You can follow that link and the first section has the phone number and email link of the lady to contact in order to start volunteering.

There is also something there about $50 to recruit people but I am NOT doing that, I'm just posting this up to get the word out. I'd volunteer myself if I didn't work every weekend.

The Auto-X is what they really need people for supposedly. Specifically to tech cars prior to start.

That's how we've always done it at Rally-X, but they came to me seeing if I was able to work some weekends for them/know anybody that could do it, so I said I'd put the word out there. If you want specifics on it, please email the woman on the volunteer page.

It does require joining SCCA and paying dues, right?

I see nothing about paying dues to volunteer. That would kind of be an ***-backward way of getting volunteers

please direct all questions to the email on the page though, as I am just a messenger.

Then I expect that is exactly what the deal is, SCCA isn't particularly well known for being exactly "friendly" with non-members.

Not that its their fault, I expect their insurance dictates that anyone expecting to be covered needs to be a member, but I'm fairly certain that is what they are after in this case.

I'm pretty sure it's mostly for the Club Racing part. At least that's where they needed volunteers for the past years.
Then again the more the merrier at the autocrosses because sometimes we're short workers for some run groups.
