I'm safe! I work about 6 blocks form the explosion, we thought it was a huge bomb or a air craft that fell. Then I could tell that is was natural gas because the smoke was grey for the first 15 minuets!! then all the houses started to burn!! lots of good people lot their houses and have nothing! I feel like we should do something to help out the comunity!

Just caught this on the news about 20 minutes ago.

A friend of mine lives in that neighborhood. Just got through to another friend of mine and they are o.k.

Crazy situation there. PGE better hope that nothing comes back on them having made a mistake or let something fall out of proper maintenance.

Godspeed to anyone that lives there or knows people there. I hope you can track your friends down.

I work in South City and just missed the explosion. My prayers go out to the families affected by this terrible disaster. So sad to hear 3 people perished and several critically injured !

I wonder if anyone in the area could put up a webpage for the people who've checked in with the Red Cross - so people can at least get a note to relatives letting them know they're okay.

The news is reporting a handful of people that have been transferred to the hardcore burn unit in critical condition.

Triage has been activated county wide.

The response to this has been quick and complete from what I'm hearing.

PGE has said that it WAS one of their gas lines. A 24 incher.

Krinkles - Where did you find that map? The reason I ask is this is the one I found and it doesn't go as far south and I have friends that are right in that area.

If you really think about it.. How is a resident supposed to respond or give feedback to this thread?? The only source would be via mobile-web, but I'm pretty sure i-Club is the least of their worries! Hmmm, not like there's a fire going on...

In no way am I trying to BURN this thread. Just bored outtaa my damn mind
Nonetheless, my prayers go out to the families!!!!

Well... a resident pretty much just responded through my post.

This is really just people talking about the madness that is going on. I don't think anyone is expecting someone to jump on here and say... oh man my house is burning down... what should I do! I'm in my office and the garage is on fire. I mean **** dude. We're not retarded.

This is just a really gnarly situation and we all either live in the area or know people in the area in and around San Bruno.

I was sitting there half a asleep and looked up and saw a fire on the news. In the middle of the fire I see a house and go... man that looks like Bob's house. Then they said the address and it was his neighborhood.

Fortunately they are o.k. and so is their house.

Fire chief is on the news RIGHT now.

Said have NOT confirmed the gas line issue. News said it was confirmed by PGE. Fire chief says no confirmation. He also just said not 3 but 1 fatality.

So that's from the fire chief and the city manager.
