a base sti is $35k. Add the BBS package with fog lights option is an additional $2k. Destination fees $700. Total $37.7k

a Special Edition sti is $33.7k (includes destination fee) with no extra accessories/options. Has the BBS wheel package, minus the fog lights.

If the sti Huck's looking at is $38k, there's probably an accessory or 2 included with the car.

Ever so terribly sorry. I meant to say "an STi w/ BBS..."

so wait, the SE is 33.7k and HAS the BBS package, and the base STI is $35 WITHOUT the BBS? jeez this seems like a no-brainer right there

The BBS package is the multispoke wheel and includes fog lights.

The difference with the SE is that it has the same BBS wheels (just a charcoal color and not silver or gold), but NO fog lights.

Once again, the main difference between the regular sti and the special edition is that the SE version has:

-no fog light option
-no HIDs
-a 4 speaker stereo system (vs 10 speakers in the regular sti)
- no optional Gold and Silver BBS wheels

What the SE has over the regular sti:

-16% stiffer front springs
-29% stiffer rear springs
- Spec C rear frame bushings
- Spec C rear swaybar (1mm thicker)
- Charcoal color BBS wheels

so it gets the better suspension for FREE, the charcoal BBS for FREE and only loses the stereo, hids and fogs? AND its 2 thousand cheaper than a base STI??

Holy crap thats like the Subaru deal of the century!

Huck, get that one or I'll lose all respect for you and punch you!

I love the BBS wheels. The other wheels (even the SE) are quite a few pounds more.

They do look nice but weigh like 25lbs or so. I would have to replace them with some Rotas ASAP!! It's pretty sucky BBS don't come standard. But the car is cheaper...

Thats not quite right, the SE has does have spec-c wheels but unfortunately they're not BBS.

The BBS that come with the expensive package are forged and lighter iirc.
