Renewing my Subie pledge badge?
So I blew my third engine several weeks ago. LIC is in the process of pulling the engine out and tearing it down, and I'm sitting here looking at investing another 5+ grand into my bugeye. She's been quite a moneypit ever since I bought her in 2003 (mostly due to my own endeavors). She's a great, extremely fun car, and I'm going to repair her no matter what happens but do I keep her or.....
I've been pre-approved for a 2.9% loan thru Subaru and I'm currently eyeing one of two potential purchases:
A) Obsidian Black Pearl STi Special Edition (Spec C suspension & wheels... lose the extra speakers, 6 disc changer, auto climate control, foglights, and HID headlights)
or for $5000 more
B) Dark Gray Metallic STi w/ Silver BBS package
I am partial to the Dark Gray over Black but I can't find the special edition in that color on the west coast. Of the stuff I will lose on the Special Edition, I don't really care about the automatic climate control, it still has AC, you just have to twiddle the ***** yourself. Fogs I can install for $400. And speakers/headunit I would probably want to replace anyways. But I do lose the factory HIDs.
I think I just talked myself into the Special Edition...
But what would you do?

SE for sure! At least that'd be my pick. I don't see a whole lot of reasons to keep dumping money into the bugeye, especially the "needing bodywork" part.

Have you considered a 350z? I heard they're super rare and have a wicked sounding stock exhaust.
jk jk!
I think picking up the Special Edition black STi and installing your own add-on's makes the most sense.
