Had a few of them and sold 'em all of this year.
Losi JRXT, R/C 10, a couple of RTR's (Traxxas Slash). Past stuff was a classic Tamiya Frog w/ Posi from the Brat Car, ClodHopper, a franken-drag-car. Sold them all off to put $ towards this house and the new car. As long as it was 2wd I could throw 360's/etc no problem, used to be sponsored BITD.

one reason is that the clutch bell shoe spring is broken. i had this happen to one car. i kept lowering and lowering idle but no matter what i did, it kept spinning. so the clutch shoes were engaging the clutch at the slowest speed.
i finally got the chance to tear it apart and sure enough, the spring broke. so nothing was holding clutch while at idle.

what happens is that at slow idle, the springs prevent the shoes from "expanding" from the centrifugal forces. but when the spring broke, the shoes would engage.
you can change when the shoes engage but changing the strength of the spring. i used to use o-rings instead of an actual spring. it worked...
