That's me on the left. You'll note that I have the lead, but I'm nervously looking back to see if the extra power from his water injection is enough to overcome the aerodynamic advantage provided by my custom front dam and rear wing.

Yeah. That just goes to show ya. When you're moving at those kinds of speeds, aerodynamics is much more important than raw horsepower.
Hmm... looking below at that nifty new "Similar Threads" thing there's an old thread from the Rocky Moutains forums about an Ice RallyCross. Daaaayyyum that'd be fun.

Dude. STi vs OBS. On ice. Street tires. Let's go!
Man, that'd be hilarious. I've driven on ice, but I have no idea how to drive on ice *fast*. Maybe we can find a place in Tahoe to run one.

--pete (who knows how to drive fast in snow and ice)
Another fun place would be the Jean, NV dry lake bed rallycrosses. No more until October though.

Talk about getting some car commercial type drifts!

Well, I'd want to check it out first. If that's just silt and sand, ok, but if that's the same kind of super alkaline powdered clay that they have up at the Black Rock Playa (Burning Man), there's no way you're going to get me to run my OBS there. I don't mind regular dirt, but that clay stuff is rust-o-matic.
Maybe I'll fly down in Oct and get a rental though.

Cache Creek BC has a lake that freezes up most of the winter- they have ice races a couple times a month and if you know the guy that has the keys to the gate you can get out and practice on weekdays.
Alaska has some fun ice tracks too....

hoche what you mean by you would run your obs...is it dangerous? and ice does sound fun especially on bald re92s lol. oh by the way way to take down the water truck he was pulling mad drifts all day long...
duo - I think Hoche is just concerned about rusting out his car if the dirt is high in salt content or something (is high alkalinity bad for metals?). I'm sure someone from the Nevada SCCA group could answer that about the Jean, NV location.
