Wooooo! And maybe I'll stop eating cones like they're going out of style.
My god the STi is at home in the dirt.
I never did try a fun run with the diff locked. I wonder if that would help my launches...

Nope. Still running the Mighty OBS. It had a nice snack of three STis, two Evos, and an Audi Quattro Turbo last weekend.

To be fair, MoDrift actually kicked my delicate hiney in raw times, but he doesn't have his Magic Anti-Cone Force Screen tuned yet, so I ended up with the best overall score in SM4.
pcowan let me borrow his STi for one run in the fun runs...making every mistake in the book, I was still able to match my time in the OBS. Those cars are FAST. I was "behind" the car the whole way and it kept surprising me. However, it handles so well that I was generally able to recover...just in time to realize that I was screaming into the next turn. Once people start getting used to them, it's all over for me, I think. There's only so much you can do with 3000lbs and 142Hp.
Maybe in a couple of years I'll upgrade, but right now all my car budget is all aimed at building up a rally GTI.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. If you're talking about the picture of MoDrift's car, he's got magnetic strips along his door panels and he lined the fenders and rocker panels with blue painter's tape to protect them. Seems to work. I don't do that, and this is my third season rallycrossing and I've never chipped my paint (but my car also has built-in mudflaps).
There is a lot of dirt though.

soggynuts post was me... cookies were not cleared
but yes
its just really dusty
make sure to have your windows rolled up and your vents closed, otherwise you'll be having dust come through for weeks
lots and lots of fun though, especially if you've never gottewn your car sideways before
