He's still looking for a donor car that I will most likely help him part out here. That's stage 1, then he will pick up the kit. He says it will still be a while before they are up to speed delivering them as they've only shipped a few kits to customers at this point.

This is one of the better deals on the surface I've seen... it's a clean title so he should be able to sell the shell.
2002 Subaru Impreza Wrx 2.0 Clean Title Rebuilt engine 6500OBO

This one I'd bet he could get for $4k.

It's more than 1k pounds lighter, and yes, stupid fast. stage 2 vf ish tune in an 818 is the same Hp:weight ratio as a ~500HP STi. That kind of HP : weight is difficult to drive on AWD. 2WD is going to be a handful even at stage 2 levels on 91 octane.

People on Nasioc are talking about big turbos, E85 and huge boost... I'm not sure they realize how difficult it will be to drive one of these at 500+HP.

That is crazy. It's probably far more car than I am equipped to handle. Probably means we get to see how safe they are at some point... Can't imagine something like that at T-Hill. I spent a good amount of time there in two different MR-2 Spyders and those were around 2100lbs/maybe 120whp.

I was thinking about the car more and I bet the 6spd and the brakes would also add a lot more weight than some Wilwoods and a 5spd.

I doubt too many would agree, but I would like to see how a "light-as-possible" EJ25 N/A powered car would drive. Get used to the chassis, and add a WRX setup later, if that's not too much re-work. Most people want POWAAAHHHHH though.

Kinda high for what he's looking to do IMO. He's looking at 1 that was rear ended and 1 that was spun and only rear damage in the $2K range.

This guy has built track only cars before, so he at least knows what to expect. He knows you won't need a lot of power for this thing to really haul some butt.
