I think its good. There wont be as many accidnets, they should also have to have their permit for a year and more drivers training.

Good! I agree that it should be 18. When your 16 you don't know or care about what the hell goes on around you including driving. Personally I only cared about gettting laid. At least at 18 you're a little more mature and focused minded with graduation goals and future plans.

changing the age will do nothing. Accidents are caused not because of their age, but because of their lack of driving experience.

we could change age to 25, and thoes people would still get into the accidents.

driver education is no substitution for real world experience imho

But more driver training behind the wheel will help.

it may help some, but no matter what you do, or for that matter what skill we are talking about, there will always be a gap in skill level compaired between someone brand new and a seasoned vet in the aplication.

I just get tired of people blaming the accidents on the teenagers because of their age, and never saying anything that it could possibly be caused from the lack of experience they have, not how old they are

we've all been through it...i know i would've been too immature to drive at the age of 16.5....18 y.o. sounds about right.

it's true to some extent. what we have to consider is that the mindset of a 16 y.o. is much different from a 20 y.o. while both might have the need for speed, a 20 y.o. is, in my opinion, more level headed.

the older you get, the less invincible you feel. i'm not saying that teenagers are bad drivers, but they are certainly more prone to make the mistakes. the lack of experience COUPLED with feeling invincible can be dangerous.

for the same reason, you see 14 y.o. boarders in teh board park busting big air jumps....because they have a different mentality, threshhold, and fear (or lacko of) for pain than the 25 y.o. boarder.
