selling my moms car, she still owes like 7K to the bank on it. Someone came by tonite to look at it but since she doesnt have the pink slip they didnt want to move on it. But obvously she cant pay off the car to get the pink untill she sells the car. How do you guys go about selling a or buying a car without a title?

 

basically the person pays the bank. the bank then turns the pink slip over to the new owner. You get what's left.


Say you owe 7. they pay 10. the bank takes the 7 give them the pink. then gives you the check for 3.

 

there is a DMV form for this. Basically you pay for the car, then the owner pays the bank, then the bank releases the car, then the DMV mails you the title
