I got yelled at for going 25mph in a residential zone

Isn't residential speed limit if no sign is posted 25 mph?

I was going down a residential street, and some dude talking to his friend in a car, who was double parked and BLOCKING the oncoming traffic, yells at me, "SLOW DOWN!!"

My first thought is, "WTF? Is he talking to me?" I check my speedo, and I'm going ~25mph. And I know no signs were posted, no children were playing, no one else is on the street, traffic is clear except an oncoming porche who his friend is going to be blocking in a few moments, and it's a weekend.

Who is wrong?

I have people in my neighborhood like that, usually older people who think they have the right to tell me to slow down when i'm doing 20. Usually they whistle or say,"HEY". I saw a minivan going by my street doing atleast 40 but good luck seeing them get yelled at.

Your car probably sounds louder than normal cars because of exhaust or something? In those cases people might think you're going faster than you are.

I've had that happen so many times. Especially in my old neighborhood, which was a new development. I would be cruising slower than 25mph and i'd get a yell from a guy washing his minivan "SLOW DOWN!" I'm like WTF? I'm doing 20, exhaust makes a noise, it doesn't make you go 15mph's faster than you actually are.

I would've yelled suck it!

over in Ocean Colony ( i know AWD 20T knows about this guy ) theres a family that lives a few houses up from my brother. they have a neon green turtle with a flag that says " Slow Down ". every time we see this guy, he yells at us. "Slow the *** down!!!" and stuff. you could be using gravity to coast at 1mph and youre still speeding....

one more time, and im gonna set that ****ing turtle on fire and throw it through his living room window

:rotfl: I love those turtles, the secret message is "I've been too lazy to teach my kid NOT TO RUN OUT INTO THE STREET so slow down below 10 mph"
