Question re: new battery and AP
Hey guys and girls,
I got a new dry-cell Odyssey battery for xmas and had a question about swapping it into my car. I'm currently running Cobb AP stage 2 and was wondering if I need to reflash my my ecu again after changing my battery? Also, should I do the ecu reset while my battery is disconnected? (Press the brake three times, etc.). Sorry if these are dumb questions, my AP manual is at work. Thanks!

when you marry the AP to the car you're flashing a basemap. Later, you can load a real time over that (kind of a temporary map that doesnt use up the 100 or so flashes your ecu can handle in its lifetime). When you disconnect the battery, the realtime map will go away and the car will revert to the basemap that is on the ecu. This is the same effect as if you selected "rest ECU" from the AP menu or if your battery died. Hope this helps you

Thanks guys. When I got the AP, I married it to my car and flashed a stage 2 basemap, so it sounds like I'm good with switching out the battery without having to reflash. I appreciate everyone's help
