Question Battery Voltage Question

Hi,

I just got my 30K maintenance done at carlsen. Ack! that was extremely painful...on my wallet. =( Anyhow, they told me that my battery is somewhat low, it's reading 9v (idle) but 12-13v (when running). I won't name names, but a certain HELPFUL service person told me that if the battery reads under 8v AND if i'm still under my 36K warranty, subaru will replace my battery for free.

The question is, how should i drain my battery without going overboard? Please keep in mind that I live in the east bay and have to drive to carlsen...last thing i want is to have my battery die on the san mateo bridge. =P

Any helpful advice would be nice. THANKS!

spidey

I just got a new battery under warranty from Carlsen on Monday. The battery MUST fail their load testing for them to cover it under warranty. Good luck.

Holy crap Drew! What the hell happened to you?! I haven't seen you on the boards in like 2 years! How you doing man? We shot pool together that one time at Family Billiards, in case you don't remember me

BTW, if you wanna drain the battery, try leaving an interior light on for a few hours

hey ryan!

of course, i remember you. it was my one and only baic meet. so how have you been?

as for me, i've been busy as hell with work, school and my personal life...i barely have time to go online. if i do, it's to look up something for the car. =P it's still bone stock...well except for the exhaust/blow-off valve/turbo-timer/mesh fog-covers. hehe.

i'm probably going to get my windows tinted at omega in a month or two. it's been freaking hot in sf. what have you done to your car since i last talked to you.

PS. i've started riding motorcycles. hence the lack of mods in my car. it's an expensive hobby. =P

Me? I'm okay haha... good ol' starving student. Gonna be applying for law school soon, and I'm worried as fork about the LSATs
I'm pretty close to stock too, still... just STi C/F wing (replica of course, haha), painted sideskirts, new tires, and a straight pipe axleback. Kaplan's took all my money
Heh, seems like lotsa folks are getting into sportbikes... I got another buddy who's pretty much forgotten about his poor 2.5RS, and is sinking dough into his bike.
Anyway Drew, you should come out to a meet sometime! I'm sure you know the deal: Wednesday nights at Eggettes in South City, Fridays at Mission Plaza in DC. Hope to see you again sometime!
