So there I am driving on montague/san thomas and not speeding because I know CHP conducts mad speed traps there. All of a sudden I see Santa Clara P.D bike on my ***, then lights me up so I pull over. Cop walks up to my window and ask if im a racer? I reply no officer I do not street race and I said im 29yrs old...he then says well you look 10 yrs younger anyway is that muffler stock? (apex-i N1) I said no officer its not and I have the stock muffler in the truck if I can show you? he says no that wont be neccesary, can you pop the hood please?...Im all stock minus the exhaust and "riceoff valve" which he takes notice of right away and ask whats that thing? "I said I dont know it came w/ the car and im told its the blow off valve and its a stock replacement part that does not affect emmisions" lol. Anyway he keeps me there for bout 15mins then walks up to me again and ask so your not one of those punk street racers? why would you have a car like this then? then says ok can you rev the engine for me please? (I do but keep it under 3k rpms) he then says today is your lucky day son (im 29 the cop had to be 6yrs younger than me) im gonna let you go but I suggest you take care of the exhaust and this is my road so I will remember this car....40mins that **** had me there!! and my passenger says as he walks away "report that bastard on Ratemycop.com" the cop hears that and says excuse me??!!! how bout I just tow your car..because I can!? I said sorry or w/e just wanted to be on my way.

 

u should definatly report him. if u know other people that get pulled over for the same **** call the local news and tell them that's always a great way to get back at un fair police.

 

what a dick..I hate cops who abuse their power....just goes to show he has nothing better to do, and probably just became a pig yesterday and wanted to try his new found power....sorry to hear he gave you such a hard time

@ "take care of that muffler." if its under the legal limit he can **** off (actually he can write you a fix it ticket and you can contest it and make sure it goes on his record that he doesn't know whats legal and what isnt).

And he'd have no grounds to tow you other than "inadequate muffler" and then you could have a ball with that one in court

Canister/angled/melon shooter mufflers are on the same level as riding with no front plate, its just an excuse to pull you over and **** with you.


Sucks that happened though, you did right by being patient and polite.

 

ive been pulled over 3 times for double the speed limit...and the only ticket ive gotten was for my tint!!! not really complaining tho lol

 

2 things...

once you get to the point that you KNOW it wont get any easier for you.

it's to STFU.

ask the cop nicely to either ticket you, arrest you or are you free to go.

plain and simple.

 

^^very true, i learned that a few years ago. chicks might be able to talk their way out of it, but not for us guys, the cops could care less about what we have to say.
