and from my experience a cop can't just tow your car just because you have an exhaust. i worked at west sacramento police department for the past 1.5 yrs. and having an exhaust or anything in the hood does not give him a p.c. to do such a stupid thing. if it was me i would have asked him how and y and then if would have gave me a smart answer i would ask for his superior. I my self don't like bike cops because they are traffic cops and thats all they do. a real cop goes after drug dealers or other major criminals then a stupid fix it ticket.

The CHP is losing its mind, I have placed a formal complaint with the CHP Internal Affairs division about the same harassment. The officer at internal affairs said about my car and street racing, "if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then..." Please make a formal complaint to internal affairs for the CHP or the Local police department. This behavior is out of control, and they need to know, STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!

after i read the story, i thought the cop was cool enough to let you go. and the first thing come to my mind after read the post is to slap your passenger. if anyone in my car said that thing when the cop was still there i would get so pissed. i would be more mad at them than the cop.

I missed the big deal myself. Cops will sometimes put people over the flames to see how they react and trip themselves up. Like the fools who are transporting 20 pounds of weed and consent to a search.

If you've done nothing wrong, stand your ground, be professional and everything should work out. He let you go because he realized you weren't what he was looking for.

Personally, I'd go buy a lottery ticket the day a LEO lets me go with a warning. After 10+ years of driving I've yet to be let off free.
