The real question is though, do you know what movie it was from? (because I really can't remember, I think its a Chevy Chase movie). So all of you movie buffs, do what you do, and find out what movie it is from!

Great Scott! Why did I decide to check this thread right as I got into work... It has been over 50 minutes of me reading this, cracking up, trying to work a little, and now I am back to reading it. I have gotten barely any work done. This is getting heavy.
That's what the Vendor, Tuning, Service, and Parts Review forum is for. If you have an issue with a shop, handle it with said shop and then respectfully share your experience in a new thread. If you're looking at having work done, do research on the shop you wish to use. Posting/reading only "horror stories" is not a way to evaluate a shop. Therefore, this thread is worthless.
"Horror stories" about bad shops can help people who might end up using that shop.
Any shop that abuses its customers doesn't deserve "respectful" airing of that. They deserve to have their problems publicly and openly aired so others will know never to use them. That is how you help put said shop out of work, so that others are not screwed over too.
When in the hell did you all turn into a bunch of PC, be nice to everyone hippies? We as a community of like minded car enthusiasts owe it to ourselves and our fellow subie owners to expose the bad shops for what they are.
The last "horror story" about shops that I read was from "06STi/I<3Subie" or whatever and that was a load of crap if I remember right. Most of the time, "horror stories" are one side of a situation - there is ALWAYS another side.
The only "horror story" I have had personally I have not posted in full detail about. Why? Because it would just be more BS and start more stupid forum battles with people saying it didn't happen because they like that shop or whatever. Since I had to deal with it all, gave the shop MANY chances, months of chances actually to sort it out, they did not and I had to deal with the consequences and it really sucked. Frankly, any kind of "discussion" like that would just **** me off and not really do anything to fix the problem. The shop in question isn't even around any more (though the people are and have dispersed to other shops) but I do not believe any good can possibly come of mentioning this personal experience. Disagree if you like, but you would be wrong - because in this case it's all my business.
I have had loads of other experiences at other shops. I can count on one hand the shops I trust with my belongings but that is all based on my experiences. In most cases any mistakes or whatever have been handled nicely, and I have no complaints. Knowing what I know now from the experience I had, I would have given a closed amount of time for the problem to be handled, and then if it were not I should have contacted the BAR and written a full disclosure review in the review systems here. Posting a thread about "such n such shop did this to me waaaaaah" would probably have ended the way ALL OF THE OTHER THREADS OF THAT TYPE HAVE. In a stupid *****-fest, and eventually a lock. This helps NO ONE.
Use the reviews section.

And I disagree with you 1000X.

But we've all had fun, we've had seasons in the sun.
If you are looking for good or bad information on a shop, do a search! Just about every shop in the Bay Area has had some good and some bad issues. If one comes in here and starts bashing a specific shop, you'll get the fanboi's coming in and it turns ugly. This has been covered many times over in previous threads. You're better bet would be to start a thread and ask if anybody has taken their car here cause that's what you were thinking and whether their experiences were good or bad.

I pretty sure that a search will yield many comments and post about members disgust for certain shops. For every bad review there's a slew of fanbois that chime in to try to discredit the OP. It usually turn into this. Thread. It doesn't take a genius to put together which shops are worth a damn and which one you might want to stay away from. you know what they say about opinions. At the end of the day trust your gut. You can spend all day focusing on the negatives of a particular shop or you can look at all of the positives a few shops have. A track record is a track record some have impeccable track records. At the end of the day it's you money. If you need someone to spend it for you lemme know. I got you covered.
Oh yeah we're starting up a brand new day...

Would it be safe to say that any shop (that is on the vendor list) is a good reputable shop? I am almost temped to say that if there is a bad shop in the BAIC, it has either already gone out of business, it will be out of business very soon, or it has relocated to somewhere else.
With that said, I would imagine that some shops are better at doing some things that other shops aren't as good as doing. IE; Shop A is really good for tuning Turbo engines, Shop B is really good at tuning NA Engines, and Shop C is really good for doing engine swaps. And of course Shop A, B, and C could also all be the same shop.
So, who is good at tuning NA Engines? I may want to tune my car at some point in time

First and foremost, I know I/We are not perfect....we've made mistakes and again I'm not perfect and will continue to (ideally as limited as possible) in the future. What I can say is with each mistake, it has never been repeated <-- this is called learning from it. And we have always done what is right, which is taking care of the customer.
I'd wish I could say I/We are perfect but we aren't. I have never asked anyone to post up positive things about us or our shop, nor have I ever discouraged anyone. Some people you can never please. Some it takes very little to please. And others you work your butt off to do what you can b/c they've been jaded by another shop, experience(s), and aren't willing to entrust what you offer....we've all had our fair share of them.
At the end of the day, I can honestly say....this business (LIC), Me (Noah), and Adam have done everything in our power to do what is right and often times at the expense of our business. Some say for what? I say, it's who we are. Here is an example: I get emails and phone calls all day long about discounting this or that, this shop does this, this shop does that..........all while someone is trying to extract one thing from me...MONEY. <-- is that fair?
This business is a business; we need your money to survive. Although its fun to get on a bash session about this business or that business, think about what you are doing to that person(s) and that business. Obviously the folks who do this for the joy of it, have no b*lls and decide to go on a tirade for pure amusement. The others who jump in and have no face value or firsthand experience are the ones who are really at fault; these are the folks who take out good people/business. And for that I would do anything and everything to defend this business in that circumstance(s).
Long and short...think about what you say

Did someone say "sultry man love"???
I'd like to add:
"Hi...my name is Paul. I have had engines that I have tuned or were in the process of tuning fail/explode/seize up"
And any tuner that can not admit or refuses to admit to the same is full of **** and should be avoided at all costs.

Blasphemy!

No, I know no shop is "perfect" but I only know to stay away from certain shops because I have been lucky enough to happen across a "bash" session about said shop and follow links out of it to other complaints.
I guess what I am saying is, I don't see it as bad to "bash" on a crap shop, let them come in and have their say, then be done with it. 9 time out of 10 people are going to see past the layers of BS to the core truth.
Now, all that said, I have yet *knock on wood* to have a bad experience with any of the shops I have taken the FXTi to.

I've gotta talk about this from another viewpoint.
As someone who worked at a shop that had chassis dyno tuning there are lots of things the "consumer" does not understand.
Problems that often get blamed on the shop, which just aren't their fault.
1) If you have somthing shady in your engine and it's weak... the dyno will find it. The loads that get put on a car on the dyno maybe be higher than anything the car has actually experienanced before (due to poor traction ect). Sometimes stuff is gonna break it it's not up to snuff
I went through a week where two people had supercharged 5.0 Mustangs blow-up on the dyno during tuning. They were friends and of couse blamed us.
Truth of the matter was that both of these guys had built the same combo, making stupid amounts of boost (20psi) on a stock rotating assembly. In both cases the over-stressed OE connecting rods broke when loaded.
Did we have anything do to with this: No but these two decided to tell their friends it was our fault anyways.
2) If you have anything
