Sounds like one of the sweetest dogs I've heard about. I really hope she pulls through and will be alright!

Yeah.

I was VERY uneasy turning her over and what not but honestly man I prayed really hard about it....as did my wife. I talked to my mom about it and several other people before we made the decision. IT was the best thing we could do for her.

I almost turned around but I felt much much better after talking to them. If I keep tabs on her and she recovers I should have no problems adopting her if we choose to do so. But I won't do it for myself. It's obvious that financially right now I can't care for 3 dogs. We have one that may need to be put down at any time. When it's her time we'll look into a second dog. This whole experience taught me a lot. Also showed me that my dog needs a companion. He was bumming so damn hard last night. Walking around with the toy they play around with just looking for rosie. He ended up just sitting on the floor next to me while I got hammered.

she really was. I have a soft spot for dogs and always have. I haven't met a dog in my life that doesn't like me.....talking even crazy guard dogs. I've met a lot of sweet dogs in my time and even owned a few. I love my dog Rufus like no other. But on a pure sweetness factor I think Rosie is the sweetest dog I've ever met. Not a mean strand in her body.

so to all you pit haters that say they're born mean...**** YOU!

This is the second one I've had and they were both awesome dogs.

I can't imagine what y'all are going thru, Ray. Such a tough decision, but you went about it in the most responsible way.

I may just hafta crack open a brew myself during lunch.

Word... from the sounds of it you did the right thing with the dog. Hard to balance the emotional bond with the dog, and what is actually BEST for the dog. From the sounds of it though your actions might have saved the dogs life, so you can't be to bummed.

Ya it's kind of sad when you had two dogs and the one dog dies. You can literally watch the other dog walk around like where did my friend go. My dog was doing great with its cancer until the older dog died it seemed like. Then it just took a turn for the worse and it became lazy and slept all day walked around with its tail down.

Every pit I have come encountered with has been the sweetest most playful fun loving dogs. The last thing on their mind was hurting a person. I saw a guy walk into a Longs and he just told his Pit to sit outside. The dog sat there wagging it's tail like crazy whining for people to pet him. Most people avoided the dog in fear. One man decided to walk up and pet it, and the dog licked the **** out of his hand and the dog was acting like it just won the lottery it was so excited for a random person petting it. Not to mention Pitts IMO are one of the best looking dogs

No joke. One thing I know for sure is every dog I've ever owned has been sweet and has been VERY owner loyal.

Queensland Healers. Pit Bulls. Rotts. Akitas.

I am a firm believer in they are what you allow them to be.

It's such crap that I can't get a damn rental with a pit bull. What kind of **** is that? What about a poodle....don't say nothing about no poodles...those ****ers are mean as hell. Course that's cause most people that have them are stuck up pieces of crap.

One of the reasons I felt comfortable leaving her there was they didn't even flinch when they saw she was a pit. Just said....any aggression...wound touchiness. I said nope. She eats out of the same bowl at the same time as my dog. Never been aggressive with any person or animal ever....They said o.k. and walked her into the back.

I just tuned in. I wish I could have helped yesterday. I would have gave oyu some cash to get her in. Keep tabs on her. Hopefully the vet will be able to let you know one way or another of her status. It is unlikely. I don't know what to say. I was just chilling with her on Fri. Everything was fine with her. What the could have happened between then? They turn so fast. I hope she makes it through.

I hear ya on the renters issue. One of my good friends has had a few pits and had a litter of them and she was lucky to have a place that accepted pits. Another friend has one thats mixed and looks like a weird lab mix, but is the body of a pit and he just passes her off to be a mut and thats how he gets by those predjudice pit bastards.
I've played with my friend's litter of pits pups and a few months old and they were verrrry sweet and jumpy and just wanted to play with you! I've encountered several pits and they've allll been realllly great!

I can understand the renters thing. A pit is to big of a dog to have locked up in an apartment IMO

not all rentals are apartments....

we're renting a 3 bedroom couple thousand square foot house on a big chunk of property. The closest house is probably a quarter mile away in any direction.

then that's retarded... if you're renting a house you should be able to raise any dog you want.

that's what I'm saying. Not sure if it's the same way everywhere but in santa cruz county it's hard as hell to find a place to rent...house or apt. that allows pets...let alone large dogs (my akita) or pit bulls. Some like ours have a list of dogs they don't approve of.....Chow, Pit, Rot, etc. I got in a big argument explaining that my dog is an akita not a chow.....bull crap.

They didn't know about rosie.
