petition to remove the front license plate requirement in Cali
I will bet you $100 that no matter how many online signatures this petition gets, the law will remain as it is. I'll give you a year to prove me wrong, Mr. JON MACIAS.

Law enforcement wants vehicles to have front license plates. You might as well petition Campbell's Soup Company to create a new licorice-flavored soup - no matter how many online signatures you obtain, it still ain't gonna happen because the soup won't generate revenue like the no-front-plate violation and red light cameras do.

Do we have a bet?

well, at least it's a means to see how many angry people there are about this... it's especially disconcerting when you have to drill holes in your precious porsche's front bumper or something like that...

Not all states give out front plates, I tool it upon myself and cut the part where the plate was stamped out, and then mounted it to a used fog light cover on the drivers side, therefore it is there, and I do not have anything for a cop to look at and want to pull me over for. It's funny how Corvettes, Mustangs, Porsche's and many other cars come with front plate blocks or pieces that make it look like there is not room for a licens plate to go onto, petition signed,as to whether or not it will change anything?? Oh well, such is life.

its not even just popular sports car...I was walking by a used car lot the other day and there were 2 vw bugs (newer ones) that didnt have holes or even any kind of indentation. I'll gladly challenge any cop pulling me over for no front plate to justify the law when there are so many cars without the ability to have a front plate. If I brake a law, fine. But I will not let a law be inforced upon me that is inconsistantly inforced all the way up to the level of car manufacturers. its BS

I like the law because for this reason. I am about to get a Florida tag, no front plate, and this will make the piggies do crazy u-turns to come pull me over and when they get behind me and see FLORIDA = pwned.

They will never get rid of the two plates. It sucks yes, but it wont go away.

you have to register your car in the state to get tags from the state.

actually there are a lot of other reasons than that and I highly doubt that is one of the main reasons

Yeah, but I've come up with a bracket for the Subarus which uses the JDM holes already in your bumper. I'm finalizing the design pretty soon. It'll be anodized aluminum which will be secured by stainless steel hardware, and then the license plate attaches to the aluminum bracket. Simply put the plate on with the two bolts when you need it on (like Hammy, etc.), and take the plate off when you don't.

BTW, the Porsche bumpers have a special bracket arrangement which attaches under the bumper lip at the top of the grille opening in the front...at least the Boxster I studied...
